Purple Smoky Eye Feat. Urban Decay’s Vice 2

I thought it would be fun to do a purple smoky eye to match my purple hair, and play with The Vice 2 Palette. It’s was the first Urban Decay product I tried so it’s kind of special. It reminds me of a Merle Norman palette my mother had when I was a kid. Some of the colors are even similar and I remember it having the same buttery texture.

For this look I opted for a Halo or Spotlight Smoky eye, keep reading to see how I created this look.

Firstly, I applied Habit with a large dense fluffy brush from lid to brow as a base shade. Then to Rewind through the crease area lightly as a transition shade on a smaller fluffy brush.
photo centerlid_zpsk5elqmrm.jpgNext up I took Betrayal, a vibrant purple lavender with a blue shift. I packed Betrayal on with a flat shader brush to the center of my eye above the iris when looking straight ahead. Then lightly blended it across the mobile lid.  Then I took Voodoo on that same brush as before and packed it on the inner and outer corners and blending it inward into Betrayal slightly. I went back and added Betrayal and Voodoo as needed to create a smooth gradient. photo outerinner_zpscyufg5jl.jpgFor the liner I chose Midnight Plum, a smokey blackened blue based eyeliner pencil from Tarte.I tight lined top and bottom with it and created a wing on the upper lash line.

On the lower lash line I patted Betrayal on focusing on the center mostly but softly blending it across, just like I did on top,
photo lowerlash_zpsdoouiymf.jpgI repeated the same concept with Voodoo along the lower inner and outer lash line and carefully blending. I finished off by adding a the pink from The Vice 2 on the inner most corner.
photo finishedeye_zpscewof6kn.jpgI slapped on some of Tarte’s Light Camera Lashes and some half lash false lashes to finish the look.
This is a great mascara by the way. I’m going to be doing a review on it soon.
photo fin1_zpsxkrpg3wb.jpgI wasn’t thrilled with the way the lip color came out in pictures. In person it looked much more purple/blue.
I ended up switching to Nyx Butter Gloss in Devil’s Food Cake.
photo altlip_zpshunpdbx8.jpgI think it looked much better, and made the look more wearable.

That’s all for this look, thanks for reading. Don’t forget check out my other recent posts

On a side note: I’ve reached 250 followers here on WordPress and I want to say Thank you all so much!!!
