Rose Gold Breakfast Date Get Ready With Me Feat. Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette

Rose Gold Breakfast Date!

Breakfast date? 6am? Why? The Mr and I keep pretty odd hours and with his work schedule, we have our dates when it works for us. So, a 6 am date to IHOP isn’t that out of ordinary for us. This particular occasion, The Mr was coming off a 12-hour night shift, He calls me from work around 3 am (yep, I’m up)  and asked if I wanted to grab breakfast when he got off. Of course, dork that I am, get silly excited about the prospect of a chicken fried steak dinner (it was delicious) and a reason to play in makeup.

I was in the mood to do something soft, romantic and morning appropriate. I didn’t want to look like I was still out from the night before even though I had been up all night, it was mostly spent in front of the computer and listening to Cheers.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get started!

Naked 3 Palette By Urban Deca

Anytime I think of doing a soft, romantic looks I think; Naked 3. It may not be the world’s most versatile palette but my goodness, it’s beautiful.

Starting with my brows done and a primed eye

E.L.F Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer

I dusted on the lightest shade in the palette, Strange. An almost pure white with a subtle sheen.  Strange was applied all over the lid to brow bone.

Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Strawberry Milkshake

Next, to create a nice base for my lid shades to stick to I applied this Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Strawberry Milkshake. It’s a nice soft pale pink. The Nyx Jumbo pencils make great bases to really help get the most pigmentation out of your shadows, Just be sure to prime well. They will crease over time.

As you can see, I just applied The Nyx Jumbo Pencil to my lower mobile lid, not dragging much into the crease where it will tend to get … creased when I smoothed it out with my finger.

Once that was done, I went in with a combination of Limit and Nooner (hu hue hue) as my transition shade. I blended them from the crease upward blowing the color outward toward the tail of my brow to create an elongated cat eye effect. For this a used a fluffy blending brush.

Limit and Nooner are fantastic transition shades. Great for soft and graceful blends.

For the lid, I took Buzz and packed it on with a flat shader brush.

Buzz is a lovely cool toned shimmery shade with an almost chunky texture, It wears best over a sticky base it applied with a damp brush.

Darkside from The Naked 3 Palette by Urban Decay

In the outer V, I carefully blended Darkside to create depth and enhance the subtle cat eye shape. I slowly built Darkside up, going in with very small amount on my brush,

Darkside is a grayish taupe shade with a purple undertone that can be built up to a very dark and smokey effect.

Midnight Plum By Tarte

For my liner, I chose this cool toned blackened grape shade from Tarte. I think it’s called Midnight Plum but to me, it’s too blue based and cool to be a plum. It works great with Darkside as they are in a similar color family.I don’t think my swatch does it justice, just looks gray but it has a blue-purple metallic duo chrome,

I placed the liner where it tapers inward into nothing and is thicker toward the outer corner giving the illusion of a more lifted eye, I pulled it out in a very small flick,

Nyx Wonder Pencil in Light

I added Nyx Wonder Pencil in light to my waterline to open my eyes up so I looked bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the morning.

I took Darkside again and blended the liner so it wouldn’t look so stark and pulled it down on the lower lash line toward the outer corner where it would meet with the flick I created, I blended a bit of the nooner/limit combination along the bottom lash line to soften it and added a bit of Buzz to the inner part toward the center.

Then highlighting my inner corner with a combination of Strange and Dust,

Maybelline Lash Sensational Full Fan Effect Mascara

Pacifica Eye Shadow in Ethereal

I wanted more shine, though, so I added this eyeshadow by Pacifica in Ethereal over top. It’s a super light champagne shade with a cool undertone and also has an almost blue shift.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Cherished

Then for blush, I used Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12 Blush in Cherished
