Good evening Beauties, Today I have a review of The Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, a little demo and a bridal look using it.
I’d been on the hunt for a good long wearing foundation for a few months for bridal makeup. I tested out a few but when I tested out the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation I found a winner.
The main selling point for me was “luminous”, I’m all about some luminous, dewy skin, but just about all long wearing foundations are matte. I’d say this one is a demi-matte. It’s not dewy to where you look greasy by any means but your skin doesn’t look cakey or mask-like. In fact, it meshes perfectly with skin, the undertones in this line are perfect for everyone. They look yellow based but once they’re on your skin they blend in beautifully and cancel out all the unwanted redness. I personally have a very pink undertone and it works great for me.
I used the Nars Luminous Weightless foundation for a Bridal shoot at the beginning of June which took place outside, then again mid – June for the actual wedding on the bride. It held up phenomenally, through sweat, stress, and tears. The girl barely needed a touch up if ever the whole day. I wore it also on the day of the wedding and spent most the day running about like a chicken with her head cut off in spanx, so yeah, I sweated and rushed about but, the foundation never let me down. I’d recommend this to all brides who don’t want a fully matte look and lighter weight full coverage foundation. Also on the Bride, I used the very same shade as I used on myself and she has a yellow undertone and it worked just as well on her.

I will be doing a post all about bridal makeup soon and I’ll have lots of tips and information on the best products for the big day. In fact, I’m working on a huge series all about Weddings!
According to the Nars official website, this foundation offers as full natural looking coverage, lightweight, and lasts 16 hours. I have to say, I fully agree with that. I had my makeup on from 6 am to past midnight the day of the wedding and it looked just as good when I went to wash it off as it did that morning.
The site also states that the foundation is highly pigmented and perfectly balanced with what they call a breakthrough formula that builds and blends effortlessly with just one drop. Well, it takes more than one drop. I don’t know where they get that from.

I make sure to shake this product really really well because it will separate. So make sure you shake it a good bit first.
On the website it says to use your hands, now I’m not a fan of using my hand to apply makeup because I have long nails that get in the way and I have joint problems that limit their mobility so spreading a foundation with my fingertips isn’t very practical. I prefer to use a damp beauty blender or complexion sponge to blend it in after dotting it around my face with my clean finger. The foundation does set quickly so I either work fast or in small sections.
The Nars Luminous Weightless Foundation works great with The Radiant Creamy Concealer and Light Reflecting Powder. I’d recommend using them all in conjunction.
I really can’t say enough good things about this foundation. I’m extremely impressed with everything I’ve tried from Nars and this was no exception.
The packaging feels luxurious and sleek. A heavy, square, frosted glass bottle with the classic Nars logo down the front and black textured lid. Also, includes a pump! HUZZAH!
The Nars Luminous Weightless Foundation comes in 20 shades and retails for $48 for 1 Fl. Oz or 30 mL. I purchased mine in Monte Blanc, Light 2 at my local Sephora.
