Revlon Photo Ready Foundation, Concealer and Powder Review

Alright, Alright Alright, Today I have a review and demo of the Revlon Photo Ready Concealer, Revlon Photo Ready Airbrush Effect Foundation, and The Revlon Photo Ready Finishing Powder.

I’m going to start my showing  my actual bare skin. You see I have freckles, large pores, some texture, and rosacea.  I also have a bit of blue under my eyes but it’s not bad. My main issues are covering redness, hiding pores and my makeup not settling into my smile lines around my mouth. My skin is also combination oily and dry. It decides on a daily basis how it wants to be.

For demonstration’s sake, I did two demos on separate occasions.

The Concealer

Let’s begin with The Revlon Photo Ready Concealer. This product comes in stick form. It’s quite thick and heavy duty. I found it works great for spot concealing  blemishes, but it’s not my favorite for under eye, but I think that’s just personal preference. I like creamy concealers that offer a highlighting effect for that. That being said, it does a nice job at hiding under eye discoloration and blends best with fingertips.  It gives a very natural finish.

Next up is The Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Foundation.

 

I’m going to start by saying, I love this foundation. I think it does everything it claims to do.

The product itself is a thicker formula, with an oddly pleasant smell. I cannot for the life of me pinpoint the scent. it’s not a typical foundation smell. It’s a warm almost perfume smell. It makes me think of vanilla and cinnamon. I don’t know, but I like it. Also, the bottle has a pump. YASS!

The product also has micro shimmer in it, almost glitter which sounds insane but those little guys work some magic. I don’t find them to be too much or obvious at all. Unless you are looking with a magnified mirror. I think it gives a healthy luminosity to the skin without looking oily and doesn’t make your pores stand out.

I’m in the lightest shade, ivory. My instinct at first was, “Oh no, this is too dark and yellow for me” But, once blended out it matched great and toned down my redness  amazingly. I think my picture says it all as far as it’s ability to correct redness.

The coverage is build-able as well. I like that my freckles still show through but don’t have an ashy appearance. I feel like it still looks like skin,  just perfected and healthy.

For application, I’ve used a beauty blender in the demos but I found it applies just as well with a brush.

Finally, The Finishing Powder.

I love this powder too. It has a beautiful light finish, finely milled and has light reflecting pigments. It sets the foundation perfectly without getting cakey and preserves the luminosity of the foundation so it still looks skin-like.

As seen above in Demo 1 I used it as a regular setting powder, dusting it on with a large kabuki brush.

In Demo 2 I used the baking technique and applied it first with a beauty blender, let it sit them dusted it away with a kabuki.

Final thought:

These products are probably not going to to be everyone’s cup of tea but they suit me great. You’re not going to get an ultra-matte finish with these but a healthy glow, but not oily. That being said if you are super oily I would avoid this one. I’d recommend these to anyone with dry to combination skin and it would be lovely on  mature skin.
