Review time once again! Today, I have a review of the Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Powder and spoiler, it’s one of the most beautiful products of life.

I have been using this setting powder for well over two years now. It’s my go-to when I want a flawless skin. I mean bridal flawless.

As you can see mine is indeed well loved. I used it on a regular basis to set my undereye, and my face. It is available in a loose or pressed form. I haven’t tried the loose but I find the pressed to be incredibly convenient. I can bring it along for touch ups throughout the day. Not that I need many touch-ups when I use this powder. It’s very long wearing. Like the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and Nars Luminous Weightless Foundation, I have found it to withstand the busiest, most hectic of days, such as weddings. I used this powder on my own wedding day and on other brides and it lasted through the tears and sweat perfectly.

The powder itself is white with a very subtle sheen of reflecting which is completely undetectable and translucent on the skin once applied with a super silky texture, it’s very finely milled.

Why is this setting powder so magical? It’s formulated with what Nars calls Photochromatic Tech which diffuses light and adjusts to new light sources.
It’s also made with glycerin, antioxidants and vitamin E to protect against dryness, which one thing you will not experience with this powder. You will never look dry, or cakey. It minimizes the look of pores, blurs fine lines and wrinkles like a dream. This is a holy grail powder. Who knew, the fountain of youth came in powder form.
I love that it comes with this cute little carrying pouch too. I keep it inside this for when I bring it in my bag.
All this raving, but how does it look on the skin? Below is a close up of my face using the Nars Light Reflecting Powder to set my face after using the Nar Luminous Weightless Foundation and the Nars Radiant Concealer.
The powder feels weightless and pretty undetectable on the skin in my opinion. My skin type is dry and it works great on me without emphasizing any dryness. I think it would work fine for all skin types and in my experience as an MUA it has.
The Finished Look
I feel like the Nars products I used are all formulated to work together flawlessly while still working great with other products as well. It’s just magic when you use them together.
All in all, if you haven’t gathered it by now. This is my holy grail setting powder. I have yet to find anything that compares, there is a reason it’s achieved such a cult status. If you have a suggestion, please leave it below.
The Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Powder retails for $37.00 and can be purchased anywhere Nars is sold.

You mentioned about the powder also being for oily skin. Have you used it oily skin and what was your experience like as an MUA? Thank you and Happy Fri-YAY!

I used it on one bride who has normal to oily skin in June for an outdoor photo shoot and then again on the big day. It held up better than I could imagine. This was dead of Louisiana summer hot and muggy, and she needed on touch up because she cried. The makeup itself never budged.
