Good Evening Beauties, Tonight I have a review of the much coveted Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette, along with swatches and looks at the end that shows a variety of styles you can create with this beautiful palette.
Let’s jump in!

The first thing I want to talk about is, of course, the packaging. I love the simple aesthetic chosen for this palette. It’s modern and minimalist which is the way design is moving these days. In the last few years design has changed to a cleaner minimal style so the design used here is apt and suits the name. It’s bold in its simplicity. The soft velvet mauve pink packaging is a nod to the romance of the Renaissance era of the past. While it’s not the most practical finish for a makeup palette as it will get so filthy. The material it’s made of is the typical sturdy cardboard like all the other ABH palettes.

The interior of the palette is the same as the layout on other ABH palettes as well and features a large true mirror.
You also get a duo ended brush with the palette, which isn’t a bad brush at all. Tad scratchy but still handy to have. One end is a fluffy blending brush and the other is a dense brush made for getting the most out of the pigmentation. Great for packing the color on the lid.

Now for the good stuff, the eyeshadows. You get 14 eyeshadows ranging from warm to neutral to berry. At first glance, you may not think you could get a whole lot of variety out of this palette but you can. While it is predominantly warm toned with rich reds and berries. You can do so much with these shades, from soft easy daytime looks, vampy and dramatic eyes and anything in between.

The shadow quality is outstanding. I mean, they truly are some of the best eyeshadows I have ever used and I feel like is saying something because I use primarily high-end eyeshadows and I am a harsh judge of shadow quality. If a shadow. These are some of the best. The pigmentation is out of this world, vibrant, rich and luxe. They blend like a dream, with minimal effort. The metallic shadows in here are sooo metallic and so damn good.
The shade names are a thoughtful nod to the romance of the classical art world and the Renaissance period. As someone with a background in art and painting, I really appreciate some of these shade names. Speaking of shades, let’s look at these swatches. These are just finger swatches done on my arm with no primer.
- Cyprus Umber– Dark coffee with an ultra-matte finish
- Love Letter– Raspberry with an ultra-matte finish
- Antique Bronze – Metallic sable with a satin finish
- Buon Fresco – Antique lavender with an ultra-matte finish
- Vermeer – Iridescent shell with a metallic finish
- Golden Ochre – Earthy yellow with an ultra-matte finish
- Tempera – Velvety beige with an ultra-matte finish
- Realgar– Brick with an ultra-matte finish
- Warm Taupe– Earthy gray with an ultra-matte finish
- Venetian Red– Crimson with an ultra-matte finish
- Red Ochre– Sienna with an ultra-matte finish
- Primavera– shimmery gold dust with a metallic finish
- Burnt Orange– deep orange with an ultra-matte finish
- Raw Sienna– neutral amber with an ultra-matte finish
These shadows are flawless! Some of these shadows can be bought individually, I bought a backup of Warm Taupe because I love it so much and it’s a perfect brow shade for me.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette retails for $42 and can be purchased from ABH.com, Sephora, and Ulta. I ordered mine from Sephora. If it’s out of stock, don’t fret because it’s permanent to ABH’s makeup line. If you ask me, this palette is worth every cent. It’s set a trend for makeup that I am loving and I haven’t been able to put this palette down since I got it as I have said in previous posts. I just want to rub it all over my eyeballs every day.
Here are just some of the looks you can get using this palette, below each picture I will include what shadows I used if I can.

You are so welcome! You take the best photos! My selfie skills blow. I think it’s because I wear glasses, and try to take photos without them on.

Lol. I wear glasses too, I feel you there. I turn my phone around and use the back facing camera and use a mirror to see if I’m in focus.

Do you think this palette is a good investment if you already have the Naked 3?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Definitely, it has way more versatility than the naked 3 and only one shade that is similar is boun fresco and Nooner and the other matte shade, but the that’s it. That being said, the naked 3 would be a good companion to the ABH Modern Renaissance.

Amazing makeup skills! ❤ I’ve always wanted to buy this palette but never got around to doing so because I don’t use eyeshadow everyday, but I would definitely love to own this if ever I do decide to start wearing eyeshadow everyday. Great post!
