Good evening! Tonight, I have my weekly (bi-monthly in some cases) post of what has been going on my world. The past couple of weeks haven’t been super exciting and kind of up and down but on a whole, they have been pretty good, I have a few MOTD’s, music favorites and some fun stuff to show ya, so let’s jump on in.
The Makeup and Misadventures
March 28th, 2017
I have really been feeling some more natural fuss-free makeup because I didn’t have much time for glam. I spent a lot of time writing and playing catch up. Over on insta, I mostly just posted various pics of products I have been into and a few pics of MOTD’s from the week before. These past 2 weeks have really just been focused on family and friends.

The day allergies were getting the best of me. Who else has been having hella allergies this spring? I really dislike this time of the year.

We had some serious weather here in Cenla. Tornados, hail storms and so much rain, wind and damage. It was pretty scary all day then, my husband had to work that night. Not fun.
I believe at least 4 of those tornadoes were in my parish!
My roomie and I spent most the evening in the dining room and under the carport watching the storm. I wish my pics captured just how dark and ominous it looked outside.

I finally put on some makeup! LOL. My dad had knee replacement surgery last Monday, he did great. The doctor said it couldn’t have gone better in fact. He was walking the next day and is getting around with no problems and doing well in physical therapy. It was such a relief. Monday was a super long, and stressful day that ended in me being up for 30+ hours and getting a little (a lot) tipsy. Oddly, didn’t have a hangover. WTF?

I used the exact same makeup products from before aside from the lippy in a different way. I pretty much did some form of this makeup all week. I was really feeling some blushed nudes and soft pinks.

This was an awesome day! A close friend of my had a color blast party for her daughters’ b-days. I have a ton of pics but I didn’t want to put them on here because there are full of other people’s kids so I have these few of me and a couple of friends.
My poor shoes. I think the adults had just as much fun as the kids! You should have seen the bathwater afterward. I am still finding blue on me. My husband had to help me get it all off my neck and back.
Lila and I went to the bar like this after the party too and to my dads to bring him dinner! The day ended with seeing old friends and Mojo Killjoy at the bowling ally. Not a bad day at all.
At some point during the week before last, we ate at a Cajun restaurant called Quebedeux’s Boudin & Cracklins. I tried cracklins for the first time. I can say, I am NOT a fan. It’s fried pig fat… Yuck! I do love boudin though but I actually got tamales which are my favorite food of life. These were in my top 5 favorite ones. Nothing has beaten Yucatan Mexican Restaurant.
I had to get a picture of what greets you when you walk into this place. Louisiana AF right there. Yep… Poor gator, I despise hunting for sport.
The Past
Since I didn’t have a whole lot to post, I thought it would be a fun addition to show you guys some throwback pics from Facebook Memories. These are from when Ross and I first started dating almost 7 years ago! Dear god, those brows… but those legs tho.
Yeah, I had a full face of piercings and gauges. I don’t know what happened but I’m just over piercings now on myself. I never thought I feel that way.
The Good
A couple cool things though, Tarte liked 5 of my tweets! and Jane liked my insta post. Made me feel special. lol.
The Laughs
And because I def needed some laughs lately here are a few more funnies from that intarwebs.
Yeah, this one was me Monday or anytime I get into the sauce.
And my current mood about myself.
This one made me laugh way too hard. I used to be a hardcore simmer dude. Like made custom content had a LiveJournal (my age is showing) and website devoted to it. Man, I can’t stand Panic at the Disco though. #sorrynotsorry. I still get emails where people download my content for sims 2. Crazy people still play it. If I loaded Sims 4 up, I’d disappear into a black hole again so I refrain these days. I really want to though.
The Real Talk
So, I have a doctor’s appointment Wednesday to get the girl stuff checked out. I’m losing my effing mind about it. Medical stuff is a real trigger for me. I had a full on hyperventilating panic attack Tuesday morning over it and worrying about my dad. One of the reasons I didn’t do much makeup last week was because I was such a mess when I woke up in the morning. I wake up and my mind goes to spinning and I start freaking out and having stress dreams don’t help. I keep dreaming about my dad and medical stuff. I know it’s just because I was at the surgery center with him and have been with him most the week and I’m concerned about my girl stuff being ok. TMI, I have had some weird stuff with my period and hormones and that alone can drive girl a little crazy with worry right? Anyway, I will be getting back on my anti-depressants because they help with my anxiety so so much and hitting the gym more often. I been slacking there too and not eating super great.
The funny thing (not haha funny), when I was having my panic attack, apparently, my dad was having one too and yanked his IV’s out. I was more upset worrying over him that I started panicking then just spiraled into other stuff. Anyway, my point being is I feel like I can sense my loved one’s emotions and experience them too. If they are upset, no matter where they are I know it. I feel it. I didn’t find out he had a panic attack until I got to the surgery center at noon. We were both having panic attacks around 3 – 4 am. Thing is, I am so panicky, and a hypochondriac I can’t always trust those feeling because a lot of it will be in my head, least little thing and my mind goes to the worst case scenario. I’m not always so wound up either, it comes in spells. I will have 6 good months and then 2 bad ones where I can’t chill the fuck out about anything. It’s frustrating, and I get mad at myself and feel guilty about being like that and that in turn just adds to it. It’s a cycle of shitty feelings.
I am feeling better now, that my dad is home and doing really well. Better than I would have imagined. I just have to get through Wednesday and get test results. Send some good vibes my way.
The Playlist
Another new exciting element I want to start including in my Weekly Edits is a Spotify playlist which will include what music I am feeling at the moment, songs that are inspiring me, and ones I am just enjoying. I usually listen to these while I blog.
The point of these Weekly Edits is to not only talk about Beauty but inject some lifestyle, real talk and personality into the blog. Music is something that defines my emotional side, not always with lyrics but with mood. I can be very closed off sometimes and not as eloquent as I want so music how I can relate to people. It’s the soundtrack of me and my world. Not all of these will be everyone’s cup of tea but I hope some of you guys will enjoy this.
This week’s selection is made up some old favorites and, rediscoveries and some newer loves.
I have been digging some Fields of the Nephilim since I did the Moonchild tutorial. I’ve really been appreciating Mourning Sun again. It pulls me into a deeper spiritual place that I sometimes forget to visit.
It’s been a long time since I sat down and listened to Dawnrazor, their first album. It’s classic goth rock with western vibes mixed with Native American Mysticism with a dusting of post-apocalyptic aesthetics. I like to call it Spaghetti Goth as it’s heavily influenced by Spaghetti Westerns.
Son of Sam popped up in my related to AFI music, as Davey Havok fronted this band. I forgot just how much I loved this album. I also refound my love a few choice Deftones songs because I went to a rock show Saturday before last and they sang “Drive” by The Cars which I also heard in Wendy’s today. The Deftones cover is fantastic and that got me on a little kick earlier in the week. I tried listening to the albums all the way through but man, some of the songs just suck, I either love the song or hate it with Deftones.
Florence and the Machine have been in my rotation a lot lately, especially the album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. It’s such a good album. I really love the brass instruments added in. It has a retro feel that I am loving.
Speaking of retro vibes, my husband has been playing a few Daft Punk songs lately that have I been enjoying so I’m adding those too. Retro because one is all about the birth of disco. Lose Yourself to Dance just makes me happy. I am all over the place with my music tastes.
The HTML for the playlist is being wonky so I have also included a link to it Bee Beauty | Weekly Edit Playlist

The Conclusion
This week’s post is a little all over the place. I am working on streamlining the format. I think with blogging it’s always a work in progress, you are always learning and evolving as with makeup, and life in general. Your feedback is always welcome as usual!
I’ll see you on dreaded Wednesday for a tutorial I think. It’s what’s on the books anyway. I wanted to post it Friday but just wasn’t happy with the outcome and I don’t like half-assing it or posting something when I felt like I could do better.
