Welcome back! So, last weekend the husband and I went on a weekend trip to his parents and I thought it would be fun to share what is in my travel bag for a relaxed disconnected weekend away.
For this trip, I kept things super simple and minimal. No computers, no extra makeup, not even my planner. Just the basics, but I want to show ya’ll what I did bring. Obviously, this is centered around beauty products cause you know I brought some with me.
So if you want so see what is in my travel bag, just keep reading below.
First, let’s just start with my bag itself cause I love it. My roommate got me this leather tote with my initials on it a few months ago. It’s the perfect size for a weekend trip. I can fit my makeup, my toiletries, a book or magazine and if I want to bring along my planner it will fit too.
I am by nature an over packer but I tried to reign myself in on this time and brought the essentials. Aside from the obvious toiletries, toothbrush, toothpaste, facewash, and deodorant, I didn’t take along a whole lot and some of it was just in case we went somewhere kind of thing. Honestly, I only wore makeup on the way down but I liked to be prepared.
It’s been super hot and humid here lately so I just wanted to be comfy and easy. My husband’s parent’s house is in the country as well and we spend the whole time watching movies, playing with the dogs, having delicious BBQ and just hanging out. I love spending a weekend with them because it’s just relaxing, peaceful and nice.
The Skincare
It was so sunny last weekend and being in the car for a couple of hours, I went with my super duper sunscreen. The Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 50. This is one I reach for every day because it is quite heavy but I always keep a tube on hand for days I know I going be outdoors a lot like on this trip between being in the car, we spent a fair bit of time outside with the dogs.

I also brought along my Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Intensive Renewal Serum because I love the way it makes my skin feel and it’s light weight. I didn’t want to add another heavy moisturizer with the Cetaphil, even my dry skin I would still end up being an oil slick after a couple of hours.
These two are also just good for travel because the packaging isn’t bulky and they have lids that keep them from getting everywhere.
The Makeup
As far as face makeup goes I brought my current absolute favorites. The L’Oreal Pro Glow Conceal, Foundation and Pressed Powder. They are perfect for dry skin while lasting flawlessly in the Summer heat.

I decided to bring along the Tarte Tarteist Contour Palette too because I can use it for everything else. It’s my blush, bronzer, and eyeshadow.
If you have seen my Instagram lately, you know I have been rocking some simple looks with just this palette alone. I have really been into just having the skin perfected, a little contouring on the eyes and face with lashes for days.

Of course, I am not leaving home without brows! I brought the Nyx Eyebrow Powder Pencil and Nyx Micro Brow. I have been using the Eyebrow Powder Pencil for the bulk of the work and defining with the Micro Brow.

I brought the Nyx Faux Black in Black Olive in case I wanted to add some liner for one reason or another. For lashes, I am so in love with the L’Oreal Lash Paradise and for some reason, I thought I needed Benefit Roller Lash too. Ya nevah know!

I stuck my trusty nude lip combo of the Nyx Liquid Suede in Soft Spoke with the coordinating lip liner and a metallic gloss from Lancome.

And that is it for makeup, I brought a few brushes, more than I needed but again. I am an over packer. LOL.

I could have gotten the job done with just two of these really. I also brought my Eco Tools Sponge but it was in need of a bath just like these brushes.

As far as everything else I brought. such as clothes. That was super simple. PJ’s, Nike Slides, Leggings and T-Shirts. No frills this time.

I should have done a What’s in my dog’s travel bag post. She so extra. Gotta have her treats, kibbles, puppy pads, ball, monkey, and blanket. I feel like I am packing a damn diaper bag sometimes. LOL! We always bring her along though, she loves to travel and go see her grandparents. She gets excited when we turn on the road to their house, little smarty pants, same thing when we visit my dad. Pumpkin is great traveler though. Loves car rides and people. She wasn’t a fan of Buddy, Ross’s parent’s Lab. He loved her though, even gave her kisses and was submissive to her. Pumpkin is a tiny dog, she’s a dachshund but, very small for a dachshund and Buddy is a big ass Labrador. He’s a big ol baby.
That’s about it for my travel bag this time. I’ll see ya’ll Monday. Have a good weekend.
I’m going to Cuba in a couple months and I’m obsessed with what people are traveling with. I need to get that Cetaphil moisturizer! Where did you purchase that?

Wow, Cuba would be an awesome trip! You can find the Cetaphil at the drugstore, wal-mart, target, maybe Ulta. It’s really affordable.
