Welcome back. It’s time for a Weekly Edit. This is going to be a quick one with tons of makeup looks, new hair and not much else. LOL.
So I was feeling really antsy about my hair, it was either time for a new color or a chop. Well, I happened to have a tube of Pravana Ash Blonde so after a trip to Sally’s for developer I had a new look for fall… and that was pretty much the most exciting thing I did in the last two weeks.
I think the color suits me though. I am happy with it. It’s playing well with my natural red tones.
This is a simple makeup I did just to go to the bar for a bit Friday before last. This post isn’t going to be dated like normal. I just want to do more of quick update and show some makeup looks I did.
Eyeshadow: Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance
Lips: Maybelline Metallic Lipstick – Molten Bronze
In this next look, you can tell I am ready for some Fall looks and just really wanted to play in makeup. I was feeling super inspired in that respect but as far as everything else I was just not feeling it. If you have read my last Weekly Edit and the blog that followed it, you’ll know I was in a weird head space and at the time I wasn’t hating it but like I feared it kind of morphed into a bit of a depressed episode. I really wanted to do nothing but play with makeup and sleep. I didn’t want to go anywhere or talk to anyone. I didn’t even want to blog. Just no motivation and felt like my brain was all over the place. I’m forcing my way out of the funk this week. Anyway, back to the makeup.
Eyeshadow: Too Faced Peanut Butter and Honey + Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette
I have a review of both palettes here: Too Faced Peanut Butter and Honey Eye Shadow Palette Review + Looks and here: Kat Von D Metal/Matte Palette Review + Looks
Lipstick: Nyx Liquid Suede in Vintage
The next day, I wanted to play more with makeup cause it made me feel good. I just escaped into it and cleared my head. Makeup is my meditation. In this look, I wanted to go with plummy purples. I couldn’t decide on a lippy.
Eyeshadow: Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette
Lip 1: Maybelline Loaded Bolds – Mauve it.
Lip 2: Colourpop Lip Liner – Toolips
I actually left the house for this look and spent the day at the mall with my roomie. Hit up Ulta, Sephora and Chik fil A cause that’s what you do when you go to the mall. LOL! My roomie got the Nyx Happy Birthday Eyeshadow Palette from Ulta and she let me borrow it. I had a lot of fun with this one. It’s a great little palette.
The green and orange were calling my name!
Eyes: Nyx Happy Birthday Eyeshadow Palette
Lips: Makeup Revolution Renaissance Matte – Luxe
While I was at Ulta I saw this cutie. I need it!
Then came grocery shopping day. Blah! but another excuse to play in makeup. I tried something new for this one. No foundation. I spot concealed and did everything else like normal. I think it took years off my face skipping the foundation. My skin has been in a state because I am using Differin Gel and my skin is in that angry stage of adjustment. It felt like having a light sunburn for a week and sooo dry.
Eyes: Nyx Happy Birthday Palette
Lips: Glips Matte Lipstick – Boho Chic
That is my last two weeks in a nutshell. Just something quick to get back into the swing of things. Here’s to getting outta funks and getting back to normal.

Where did you get the Honey and Peanut butter palette, I’ve been looking every where for it and it’s not physically available. The looks you’ve done with it have made me ache for this palette.
Also, your hair looks amazing, I love the color.
Here is also a legitimate question for you as a makeup artist:
I have weird skin… My T-Zone is super dry all the time, regardless of what I do, and the rest of my face is oily and textured. More so if it’s been a few days since I’ve done a scrub. I’ve tried moisterizing with several different things to help. I just feel like it makes my makeup look flakey and gross. any ideas?

The palette was a limited edition. I would try checking Glambot or Amazon for it. There are a number of similar palettes on the market at the moment at least. Colourpop and Makeup Geek have similar shades. Nyx has some new palettes that look close as well. I’m going to update my review of the Too Faced Palette with dupes today, so I’ll put a link in the comment following this when I finish up. 🙂
I battle the same skin issues. I do lots of face mask, facial oils and a sonic brush for cleansing. I pile on the moisturizer and I still get dry and flakey. Facial oils seem to work the best on combo skin because it helps balance the natural oils in the skin as well as add moisture where needed.
Sorry, my reply took so long, I just checked in my comment tab and saw it. I hate that comments get lost in the shuffle sometimes.
