Woohoo! Time for more holiday release. Let’s chat all about them. In this post, we will cover the holiday launches from Too Faced and even more from Benefit!

Let’s jump into the goodies!

Starting off with good ol Too Faced who always brings the cute for the holidays. While not often my personal style they are cute none the less… and that’s how they getcha!

I’m going to preface this by saying I know the holiday launches from Too Faced are a downgrade in quality. The products are rarely on par with their normal products, which can at times be iffy as is. In my personal opinion Too Faced is gimmicky, and too cutesy for me most the time. I own some of their products and go enjoy them and some are kind of duds.

I do want the Kandee eyeshadow palette cause, it’s just freaking cute and the details on it are really cool, and I like the shades Kandee choose. It’s more because I am a Kandee Johnson fan.

Okay, let’s get to the holiday stuff and I will try to be unbias and help you choose what’s worth it and what would be a great gift this Holiday Season.

Boss Lady Beauty Agenda

The Boss Lady Agenda is the bigger of the two planner sets with 24 eyeshadows, a highlight, bronzer, and blush plus a lipstick and mascara which are deluxe size sample.

I don’t hate the shade selection of this palette, however, it looks a lot like previous year’s gift sets. I’m pretty sure Too Faced just repromotes the same shades with new names for these sets.

You get a lot for your money with these sets but its quantity over quality.

The planner itself look flimsy, the stickers are cute and as a planner and makeup fan I like that aspect but on a whole, this is an easy pass for me. If you have one Too Faced gift set, you pretty much have them all in eyeshadow terms. Why the hot pink every year?!

The Boss Lady Agenda is a $336 value and can be found at Sephora.

Pretty Little Planner

As someone who enjoys planners, I can see the appeal in these sets. While the general stying isn’t me as with the Boss Lady Beauty Agenda. I know my roommate would LOVE The Pretty Little Planner as she is a fan of the mint teal shade with gold and fucking loves planners. Not only that, the shades would suit her perfectly in the palette. I know the quality of the palette isn’t usually on par with Too Faced permanent palettes but she is more a casual makeup wearer and I think she would enjoy and get use from this little set. I think the shades in the Pretty Little Planner are pretty too. Nothing exciting, but they are practical shades that one could use daily. Not every palette has to have crazy bright bold shades.

This is a cute gift for a planner fan while is more of a collector’s item of a novelty. You get a year-round agenda and sticker sheet on top of the makeup but I don’t think the planner is gonna be great quality, it appears to be paperbound and probably kind of dinky and just shows a grid calendar.

You get less eyeshadow, and only a mascara and the planner appears smaller than the Boss Lady Agenda.

Best Year Ever

The Best Year Ever set fall into the planner theme as the 3 palettes resemble memo pads. You get a cute makeup bag as well. I like the idea of these sets Too Faced does because they make really nice gifts you can divide among friends, they have to and from labels on the back of each.

I like the look of two of these palettes, Super Fun Night and I Believe in Pink. I know I have shades just like them, especially Super Fun Night but the black and gold call to me. I wouldn’t be mad to own this set. I have one of the trio palette sets from a couple years ago when they did the Paris them and I use them a lot. A running trend seems to that the quality of these sets is better than the larger palettes. If you were gonna get one, I’d say get this one out of the 3 “planner” sets.

They are promoting this for Holiday this year but this is most likely overstock from last year. This was a Black Friday exclusive palette which got awful reviews. It’s tiny for one thing. Unless you are just a huge fan of the Chocolate Bar stuff, this one is a major bust. I wouldn’t bother.

They do these every year in a new ornament. I am a fan of Better than Sex Mascara. It’s a cute stocking stuffer gift.

Tis The Season To Sparkle Glitter Set

Now, this set I am pretty excited over as I don’t own many glitters. The Tis the Season to Sparkle Glitter Set has glitter shades that are up my alley and I think for 25 bucks it’s a good deal and you get a glitter glue. I really like this one!

This is another Too Faced thing I am digging from the holiday launches. This warm terracotta shade is calling me. I like the formula for their Melted Matte Lipsticks too.

And another one I want! All shades I love. I know the formula and like it so this set I would love to have… aside from the Latex formula. I just noticed one is that formula. Pooh. Still, I would buy it. It’s a good value at $25 for what you are getting and the shades are really pretty. They are deluxe samples but you know I love me some minis!

Too Faced Is My Life!

Over at Ulta they have an online-only set of deluxe samples they just added, I wanted to include this in here because I think it’s a good set for anyone wanting to try a few of the best sellers from Too Faced. It retails for $25 so that’s not to bad to try out some classics.

Lastly for Too Faced is the Unicorn Survival Kit. I can’t hate this. I love these duo-chromatic shifting shades and being in deluxe sample size is pretty ideal because how often will any of realistically use these shades day to day. It’s the perfect way to get into the iridescent trend without buying full-size products. Def a great gift for anyone who loves unicorns. My friend Ariana would love this one!

Cable Car Cuties is an Ulta exclusive for $19 and is a $33 value including some of Benefit’s classics in mini sizes. Rockateur is gorgeous blush and a mini would last quite a while for a blush. The tin is also reusable. I love that!

GALifornia Love

Another Ulta exclusive is the Galifornia Love Set. This one is a great value for $30, it’s a $63 value. You are getting a great Value on this one and the tin is reusable!

At this point, i took a break from writing this post. I was going cross-eyed with gift sets and getting grumpy LOL. Back to it today, The Head Over Limited Edition Holiday Value Set is another really good value coming in at $49.00 and is a $91.00 value. They’re Real mascara is great, and so is the POREfessional and Gimme Brow being a small size is fine to me as I don’t use THAT much brow gell. On top of that, you get a full-size Hoola Bronzer which is a great go-to bronzer for of us, Even as fair as I am, I can still use it with a light hand. This set also comes in a collectible tin which is adorable.

At $38, The Golden Gate Glam is a great set for the no fuss type of gal with the neutral colors and easy products included. This one is a $61 value so again you get a great deal. You have a full face of products in this one too. Pretty cute! My only complaint here you have to keep the shadow and blush inside the box as they are just pans. You could transfer them to a magnetic palette I think though. I hate when the sets are like that though. I don’t like a bulky box taking up space in my drawers on my vanity top. I would rather be able to have the box on display because it is really cute.

Beauty by the Bay is an Ulta Exclusive once again for $39.00 and a $89.00 value, inside you have a full-size High Brow to highlight the brow bone, a mini They’re Real, full-size Hoola and High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter. This set would be a pass for me as I don’t care for the High Beam Liquid and I don’t get use from products like the High Brow. However, it’s a great way to try these products out for a good price. High Beam is a pretty product, just not a fan of the format but it’s great for fair skin. Again, you get cute packaging you can keep on the shelf.

Hello, San FrancisGLOW! ‘Glowin’ Downtown’ Highlighter Kit

This is a great set of highlighing products from Benefit for 26 bucks. While Benefit doesn’t make the most blinding highlights, these are great for everyday. Inside you have Dandelion Shy Beam mini which is a matte liquid highlight. Probably not a product I would enjoy as with the High Beam mini but you get Dandelion Twinkle which is a great everyday highlighter shade for lighter skin tones. The Watt’s Up is more of a universal champange shade. I don’t recall seeing it in this format before as it usually comes in a stick. Lastly, you have a blush which isn’t named online.

Set set for someone who likes a natural glow, again it’s got the packaging where the pan of blush in inside it which is really annoying in this set because it’s  the only thing that you can’t take out. Why?

B. Right! By The Bay

This set is something different from Benefit as it’s more about skincare. Retailing at $42 and is a $84 value, you are getting quite a value. Included is a full-size Browvo Conditioning Primer which I have heard great things about and want to try out. I haven’t tried any skincare from Benefit, didn’t even know they had it in fact so this is a cool set to give it all a go.

They’re Real! Mascara “Special Limited Edition Mascara”

And of course, they have a limited edition packaged They’re Real Mascara which has a nice diamond cut handle and silver finish. If this were a new shade I would be more excited. This is just the regular They’re Real though. A good stocking stuffer or gift for someone who loves this mascara.

The Complexionista Face Palette

Lastly, we have the Complexionist Face Palette. The illustration on the package is super cute, but I hate the way it’s set up with powder and cream pans together. You are asking for a mess. Not only that, the shades are really limited. This is geared toward fair/light to light/medium skin tones. Very limited. I hate that so much. If you are going to make a set like this, make sets for everyone. Not just one where most the people who can use this will likely not get use from everything inside. For example, there is no way in hell I could use shade 02 of the Bo-ing concealer so that would be a waste on me. If my roommate bought this she could only use shade 02 and the Hoola Lite and 01 of the Bon-ing would be a waste for her. They could have done this is a much better less alienating way. I pointed out in my last post with Benefit that they are really lacking in shades in the first place though so what did I expect? This one is a pass, as it wouldn’t be a great value at $32 as a whole, annoying packaging and on principle.
