Good Morning and happy Monday. Halloween is almost upon us so today I wanted to share some Halloween makeup goodies you can grab to finish off your Halloween looks all at drugstore prices.
Let’s get into it and see what’s what.
First up is WetnWild who releases a yearly collection of Halloween costume makeup called Fantasy Makers. I remember back in the day this stuff was cheap and gimmicky but in the last few years they have stepped up their game and the products are on par with the rest of WetnWild’s line. They are less kids play makeup and more real makeup, in fact, most of it is just limited edition colors of their normal products.
Starting with the eye and face products.
Fantasy Makers Color Blast Mascara
While this mascara isn’t life-changing, it comes in some fun colors that would layer over my favorite mascara especially for $3.99.
- Seafoam Green
- Purple
- Pale Pink
- Cobalt Blue
Fantasy Makers Glitter Eyeliner
These glitter liners are a great way to play get in on the glitter trend without breaking the bank. I personally rarely reach for a glitter liner so at $3.99 I would def pick these up to have on hand for the few times I want some glitter in my look, particularly, the gold and black shades. These most likely will take a couple coats to build up though.
- Gunmetal Groove
- Gold
- Blue
- Black
Fantasy Makers Glitter Palette
Next, we have the Fantasy Makers Glitter Palette. WetnWild has these creamy pressed glitters like this year round but not in all these cool shades. I really dig the neutrals one, They look like some unique glitter shades with the greens, bronze and golden shades. It’s like if fall were made of glitter. The Heavy Metals palette looks pretty cool too with its variety of silver, gunmetal, black, gold and deep pinky red. These retail for $3.99 too! I like this glitter format from WetnWild too because it’s not messy. You can pat them onto the lid and they stay pretty well.
- Neutrals
- Brights
- Heavy Metals
- Ethereal
Fantasy Makers Paint Palette
For the full-on face painting for Halloween, there is the Fantasy Makers Paint Palette. I haven’t tried these so I can’t speak to the performance but these look like fun to use with the face stencils they also launched this year.
- Pastels
- Neutrals
- Metallics
- Brights
Fantasy Makers Paint Pot
Same goes for these paint pots. I have a feeling they will be kind of greasy but I think you could set them with powders.
- Black
- White
Now for the lippies.
Fantasy Makers MegaLast Lip Color
I love the WetnWild MegaLast Lip Color Lipsticks. They are fantastic and they are only $1.99. For Halloween, they brought out a bunch of fun shades too. Hazardous Red which is a metallic bright red looks awesome as does Eerie Onyx which is a metallic black. Do need!
- Ghostly Beings
- Bermuda Triangle
- Hazardous Red
- Chilled 2 the Bone
- Gimme Gold
- Galaxy Blue
- London Skies
- Eerie Onyx
Fantasy Makers MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Lipstick
Something new and exciting this year is the limited edition shades of the Megalast Liquid Catsuit Lipstick which is another win from WetnWild. It’s a pretty awesome liquid lipstick from the drugstore, especially at $4.99. Sleepy Hallow and Emerald City look great as well as Terrifying Tangerine.
- Purple Panic
- Sleepy Hallow
- Emerald City
- Terrifying Tangerine
- Boo Blu
- Widows Peek
Fantasy Makers MegaSlicks Lip Gloss
One product I am not a huge fan of generally because I am not a gloss fan Especially when they are in such bold shades as Crushed Rubies and Twisted Fantasy which is a black. I have never had a black lipgloss that worked out and as a pretty gothy gal, I have tried my fair share.
- Crushed Rubies
- Fickle Fairy
- Clear
- Mystic Blue
- Twisted Fantasy
Fantasy Makers Body Crayon
These, on the other hand, I have used in the past. Not a bad product, my only issue is keeping them sharp. I used to wear the red on as lipstick way back in the day.
- White
- Black
- Red
- Purple
Fantasy Makers Stencil Packs
Now, these stencil packs are really cool for doing a Halloween look. I really did the Alien Fantasy Fairy myself. I think these would be really useful as a guide for creating Halloween looks.
- Mystic Mermaid
- Alien Fantasy Fairy
- Skull Queen
- Catwalk Zombie
- Quirky Jester
- Unicorn Queen
On to Makeup Revolution. Let’s start with the eyeshadow palettes. I own a couple Makeup Revolution eyeshadow products and the quality isn’t bad. Not crazy good but you can make it work and look great. Honestly, even though these are marketed as Halloween, I think they would be nice to use whenever.
Midnight Unicorn Palette
Well, I might NEVER use this one personally. It is cute and perfect if you need some crazy bright shades for a one-off occasion. All the shades in here are shimmery.
Dark Reign Palette
The Dark Reign Palette looks really pretty. I would get some use year round from this one with those greens and oranges. It appears the top row is matte while the bottom is shimmery. I like that format in a palette sometimes.
The Dead, Are Alive Palette
Okay, this just looks like a great cool toned neutral palette. I really think this a pretty palette. You get 3 mattes and 13 shimmer shades.
Give Them Darkness
Anyone saw the movie Cat People? The box on this reminds me of it so much and again I like the shades in this palette. You have 10 shimmers and 6 mattes. I love the deep greens, purples and smokey blue shades.
SFX Spectre
Makeup Revolution is getting into SFX game with these sets. I’m not into doing SFX so I can’t give any insight here but I would imagine for Halloween these would get the job done. I’m sure they aren’t Face Off quality but good enough for one night.
Shade guide:
Olive shade: Perfect tone for mimicking skin trauma around cuts and bruises
Taupe shade: Most realistic cool toned contour shade for intense contouring
Purple: Lifelike tone to replicate bruises and black eyes.
Red: Fresh blood color – for creating cuts and scars
Blue: A light blue shade that replicates skin discoloration and painting veins around skin trauma
Dark red: A dark red that mimics the appearance of dried blood
White: Can be used to add ghostly effect to skin – or mixed with other shades to create custom tones
Black: Can be used for detail and shading – or mixed with other shades to create custom tones
Halloween SFX Bundle
This little bundle would be fun to play with to create some gory effects for Halloween. Like I said above, Probably not the best stuff on the market but will do for a Halloween party.
Contains:
- 1 x Makeup Revolution SFX Ghost Whitener
-
1 x Makeup Revolution SFX Fake Blood
-1 x Makeup Revolution SFX Liquid Latex
These have the goth girl in me kind of excited.
Ghost Sculpt
First is the Ghost Sculpt. I would have died for this at 16. You get a black contour and a white highlight. I would think this could be used to create some really pretty spooky looks.
Ghost Powder
Also as someone who wore pure white face powder back in the day, I would be all over this. Hell, I still use my Manic Panic white face powder from time to time.
Ghost Baking Powder
Freaking Baking Powder? This might actually be pretty useful for use really pale gals. LOL! I would try it.
Ghost Lights Highlighter
I want this purely cause it looks cool as hell. This might just be one of those perfect pale girl highlighters.
Now for the lippies. I will preface this part with saying these lips kits tend to be pretty awful. I had one and reviewed it here: Makeup Revolution Retro-Luxe Matte Lip Kit Review. It was the worst thing I ever put on my lips which is a shame because these shades look awesome and would love all 3 if the quality for worth it.
- Retro-Luxe Kit Unicorn Dream
- Kiss of Death Lip Kit
- Vampire Night Lip Kit
Beyond Vamp Matte Collection
I don’t have high hopes for these either, I have a matte lipstick from Makeup Revolution in the tradition lipstick format and there is nothing matte about it. It’s a good lipstick, just not matte nor is it very pigmented so I would imagine these to be pretty bad considering the deep shades that you would want to be very pigmented. On the other hand, these may be great. I personally wouldn’t bother and get shades like this from a brand that has a formula I know is good.
Contains Beyond Vamp – a stunning deep berry red lipstick, Give them Darkness – A bold dark grey lipstick and Ultra Vamp – a deep dark purple lipstick.
Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer – Vamp
This formula I am curious about, I tend to like “Velvet” liquid lipsticks. I love the shade of this. It’s a deep plum with a gray undertone.
Amazing Lipstick – 100% Vamp
This one I bet is super patchy. I looked at swatches and it just looked pretty sheer and bad.
Lip Ultra Vamp 2017 Collection #liptrends
These are pretty shades, but definitely not shades I would want in a gloss. It’s a mess waiting to happen.
Contains: 1x Amplification Intense Lipgloss, 1x Euphoria Cream Lipgloss & 1x Shine Lipgloss.
From what lip products I have used from Makeup Revolution, most have been a fail or not what it claimed to be so I’m done with them on that front. However, I find their powder products to be pretty good, not great but good. Some are better than others. I have a love-hate with this brand anyway because they copy some many other brands and it irks me.
Anyway, that wraps up this Halloween Edition of Lust or Bust. I wanted to include Lush and Bath and Body Works but that was just way too much. LOL!
What are gonna be for Halloween? Let me know in the comments. I’m going as a Bee to one party for sure.
