Get the Look | Night Eternal – Makeup Tutorial Feat. ABH Subculture + Modern Renaissance + KVD Metal Matte

I have another Holiday makeup tutorial for you guys. This one features a smoky purple lid with a hint of peachy warmth paired with a neutral lip. I wore this look to a holiday get together / birthday party Saturday evening. I had no real plan of what I wanted to do other than use purple and the Metal Matte palette from Kat Von D and this is where I ended up. So, I ended up doing a little bit of palette hopping between the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance, Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture and the Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette. Like I said, I had no real plan here, I just sat down and started playing.

The Eyes

I started out using the Bone shade from the Metal Matte Palette as my base.

I applied Bone all over the lid and brow bone to set my primer/concealer. My lids are so dry at the moment from the weather and being sick.

Jumping over to the Modern Renaissance, I took the shade Buon Fresco on a big fluffy brush as a transition shade.  Any mauve shade will do.

I blended Buon Fresco out quite a bit because I know I was gonna go smoky.

Moving on to some deeper shades I went for Velvet from the Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette.

This shade went more into the crease and blended into Boun Fresco. I used a smaller fluffy brush for this part to really tuck the eyeshadow into the crease.

At the point, I added Maybelline Color Tattoo in Vintage Plum to the lid. This was not a necessary step but I thought it might act as a nice base for the next shade.

Speaking of the next shade, I went in with Volt from the Metal Matte Palette on a flat brush and packed it onto the lid.

I feathered this shade into Velvet so there were no harsh lines.

I decided the look needed some warmth, the purples which look plummy in the pan were pulling to cool toned for my mood so I went around the transition area over Buon Fresco with Roxy from the ABH Subculture palette.

This brought in just enough peachy warmth to the look. 

For liner, I went with shadow again with an angled liner brush. I went with the shade Rowdy from the Subculture palette.

I applied Rowdy along the upper lash line and into the outer corner to add depth and give a cat eye effect without doing a full on a wing. 

For the inner corner I did a combination of Cube from Subculture and Glitz from the Metal Matte Palette.

I also cleaned up any fall out at this point.

I finished up my face makeup and moved on the lower lash line.  I ran the shade Roxy all the way across the lower lash line, really smoking the shade out.

Then with a little bit of Velvet from the Metal Matte and Rowdy from Subculture, I added in some definition and blended the lower lashline into the outer corner connecting it to the lid. It looks a bit messy here but after some blending, I got a smooth transition and flow. I also hit the inner corner with more of the Glitz/Cube combo.

I finished the eye off with L’Oreal Superstar XFiber Mascara.

For the lips, I went with a nude peach. This is a combination of Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Ludwig and Tarte Color Splash Lipstick – Rainforest of the Sea Collection in I believe Skinny Dip over top.

Cream Contour: Nyx Cream Highlight and Contour Palette – Fair Light

Setting Powder: Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder – 05 Fair

Contour: Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette

Bronzer: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Light 1 

Highlighter: Anastasia Beverly Hills Sugar Glow Kit – Gumdrop + Starburst

Blush: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure

Finishing Powder: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder – Diffused Light
