Happy 2018, Today I finally have my 2017 most loved and used skincare products, hair, and nail polish.
I tried a plethora of skincare this year and I feel like my skin is at it’s best at 30 than in my 20’s. These are my top picks that I feel are responsible for my skin being in the best condition of my adult life.
Also in this post is some nail polish, hair and makeup tools I loved this past year
So I am going to go in an order of how one would use these products. I also opted for a collage method of showing the products as some I no longer have and or would have to dig up pictures. I felt like this was the neatest and most organized way to present the products, I will, of course, link any reviews and other relevant posts as we go.
Skincare
Let’s start with Skincare. I tried a ton of new skincare this year, some things worked wonders, others ended up just being meh. Here are my top of the top.

I went through a number of cleansers, always on the hunt for one that will clarify my skin without drying it out.
Loreal Paris Pure Clay Cleanser – Exfoliate & Refine was and is my go-to for days when my skin is feeling textured, and my pores are clogged. I use this one maybe 2 to 3 times a week because it is a physical Exforiatant. It’s clay based so it really pulls impurities and removes dead skin, leaving a smooth clean finish.
On a daily basis, I fell in love with the Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Facial Nourishing Anti-Aging Cleanser. This one leaves my skin feeling super clean but not stripped and dry. It really feels nourished after use. I have never had a cleanser leave my skin feeling so healthy and nice afterward, and it smells so nice.
Now for the special occasions when I want my skin to feel really polished before I do a makeup look I go to the Jan Marini Clean Zyme. It’s a chemical exfoliate that simply polished your skin and still fairly gentle. I only reach for this one when I really feel I need it cause she pricey but, it works wonders on my face though when it just feels textured and blah. Hands down the best eye makeup remover I have ever used is the Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover. This stuff was a game changer. I have bought 2 more back ups. You can see my review here: Review | Looks | Swatches – Mary Kay Purple Smoke Palette + Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

This was the year of me and face masks. I tried tons! These are the ones I am still going back to.
Loreal Paris Exfoliate & Refine Pores Pure Clay Mask is the one I go to when the cleanser isn’t cutting it and need a good clay mask to really get the job done.
For days I want a milder exfoliate and some radiance I reached for the Aveeno Positively Radiant 60 Second In-Shower Facial. This is a quick and easy way to make my skin feels fantastic when I don’t feel like hanging out in a mask. It’s gentle yet effective like everything else I have tried from Aveeno.
Next up is the Jan Marini Skin Zyme Mask. This one, like the cleanser I use on more special occasions before I do makeup. It works like the cleanser as a chemical exfoliate. It doesn’t irritate my skin though and leaves it feeling great. This one is also kinda pricey bit worth it.
Lastly for masks is the Garnier Skinactive Moisture Bomb The Super Hydrating Sheet Face Mask. I am not a fan of sheet mask, and this one feels so gross to me but what it does for my skin makes it worth it. I have been dealing with hella dry skin this winter and this is my skin hero. I am still amazed by how well it works.
Honorable mention goes to the old school 7th Heaven Dead Sea Masks.

Something I definitely tried a lot of was creams and serums this year. Some were just okay but these are the ones that I felt made the biggest impact.
Loreal Revita Lift Triple Power Deep-Acting Moisturizer is my go-to nighttime moisturizer. It’s a nice heavy thick old school moisturizer. Pleasant scent and it works. I love it for before bed because it is much heavier than something I would go to for daytime. On my really dry days, I will use it in small amounts where I need it most during the day.
My favorite daily treatment for before makeup is the Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Intensive Anti- Aging Renewal Serum. I love the way this stuff makes my skin feel and I saw signs of improvement with this one. It sinks right into my skin and leaves a soft finish. I love this one before makeup.
Differin Gel Acne Treatment Gel! This rocked my world. It changed my skin so much for the better. I rarely get a pimple anymore and comedones are almost nonexistent. This changed everything for me. I can’t rave enough about it! My skin looks better at 30 than it did at 25. I think, though not advertised as such, has helped with anti-aging as well. Seriously, if you get one thing from my skincare roundup. THIS! It is the best thing I have ever done for my skin. It’s also really affordable.

Rounding off skincare, how about some lip love. I have had some dry and chapped lips from hell this winter and these two have been my holy grails.
Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask is just amazing and so is the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm. I have a full review here: Review | BITE BEAUTY Agave Kisses Set

Makeup Tools
I finally expanded my makeup tool collection and tried some new things out aside from my Sonia Kashuk and Real Techniques go-tos.

First up is my favorite blending sponge of life, the ECO Tools Total Perfecting Blender. This has replaced my Miracle Complexion Sponge from Real Techniques this year which was my holy grail. I love the texture of this sponge, the shape, size and the squish.
As for brushes. BH Cosmetics came through! The BH Cosmetics Signature Rose Gold Set is amazing. The quality is outstanding. I reach for these daily
A close second is the BH Cosmetics Rose Gold – 15 Piece Brush Set. These are pretty, look great on display and in my kit. The quality is a hair below the Signature Rose Gold Set but still great brushes. I bought other sets as well from BH but these two rose gold sets were the best.

Hair

I have literally one hair care pick. Batiste Hint of Color Dry Shampoo in Divine Dark. It smells great, makes my fine hair appear thicker and fuller. I am a natural dark reddish blonde that turns gold at the front of my scalp, I like my roots to look a little deeper and this is a great helping hand for between root touch-ups. I have been feeling overall a deeper hair color so this just works for me.
Warning, it can get messy because it does have color so just be careful. First time I used it. it was all over my hands, and forehead. LOL!
You can find the Batiste Hint of Color Dry Shampoo in Divine Dark here on Amazon is a 2 pack.
Nails

Like with hair. I have one polish I have used almost every other manicure all last year. OPI Washington D.C. Nail Lacquer Collection in Suzi – The First Lady of Nails. It’s just a perfect olive green that I am still obsessed with.
