Get the Look | Spellbound – Valentine’s Day Makeup Tutorial featuring Huda Beauty Desert Dusk + Colourpop

Happy Monday, This is my second time typing this. Yay Monday and thanks for not saving my progress WordPress and glitching out. Appreciate it!

Anyway, Today I have a makeup tutorial featuring a rose gold and red halo eye paired with a deep oxblood wing and a glossy lip. This look was inspired by the Lacuna Coil song called Spellbound. This shades screamed Valentine’s day to me so I wanted to get this post up in time.

The star of this tutorial is the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette, which is stunning. I just got my hands on it a couple weeks ago and have been obsessed.

I started this look out as I typically do with my brows done and my lids primed and set. I then went in with Desert Sand, a pale sandy cream matte shade on a large fluffy brush applied it all over the lid.

Desert Sand is a tad deeper than my skin tone so I didn’t bring it all the way to the brow bone.

Next, on a fluffy blending brush, I went in with Eden, a matte peachy shade, perfect for the transition area.

I applied Eden into the crease and blended up into the transition area and toward the inner part of the brow.

Then to start building some depth in the crease and transition are I took Amber on a smaller fluffy brush into the crease.

I focused Amber on the outer portion and blended it over into the crease and into Eden.

To really get some drama I took Saffron on an even smaller blending blush right into the crease and the outer portion of the eye.

I blended Saffron into Amber and made sure all my crease and transition shades were blended together.

Now for the most amazing shade. Turkish Delight.

I applied Turkish Delight on a damp brush all over the lid area. These metallics and shimmers apply best with a damp brush.

For a pop, if rose gold in the center of the lid I took Angelic on a flat damp brush as well.

I patted Angelic right in the center of the lid.

Next, for liner, I went in with Nyx Faux Black in Oxblood to create a wing.

I cleaned up any fallout and perfected the eyeshadow with a q-tip and some face primer and then went ahead and finished my face makeup off.

Moving on to the lower lash line I lined the waterline with Nyx Faux White in Linen. 

I took the Eden shade all along the lower lash line and then took Saffron on a pencil brush and blended it into the outer corner and over into Eden. I also made sure to connect with upper and lower eyeshadow.

To highlight the inner corner I took a combination of Stobe and Lit from the Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Highlight and Contour Palette.

I finished off the eyes with L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar X Fiber Mascara.

For the lips, I did a combo of Colourpop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick in Catching Feels and Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip in Charming. Overdrawing those lips like my bank account with no shame.
