Happy Friday Beauties. I have another Valentine’s Tutorial today using the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette. With this look, I wanted to dive into the more purple shades in the palette cause they are so stunning and I am a sucker for purple eyeshadow. I think this look ended up being perfect for Valentine’s Day, it’s soft, sultry and romantic.

Song inspiration for this one comes from David Bowie via the Labyrinth soundtrack. As the World Falls Down is one of my favorite lovey songs.

Labyrinth

I still remember perfectly, when my husband and I first started dating, one night he was singing this song to me outside his apartment at 5am, The neighbors were very confused.

Let’s get started!

The Eyes

Once again I am using my current obsession palette, the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk. Those shades, I can’t even. LOL. I just want to roll around in these eyeshadows.

Anyway, I started out as normal with my eyebrows filled in, and my eyes primed and ready to do. I

I went in first with Desert Sand to set the lid and get a nice base shade going.

I used Desert Sand with a light hand as it is a tad deeper than my skin tone but I applied it all over the lid to the brow bone.

Jumping right into the purple, This is a shade I reached for quite a bit in this look as a transition and to blend out the other eyeshadows.

I first took Amethyst on a fluffy brush and blended it into the transition around above the crease and below the brow bone.

Next right into the crease I took Blazing on a smaller blending brush.

I blended Blazing into Amethyst softly.

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette - Saffron

To start building depth and drama, I went in with Saffron and applied it to the crease and outer corner of the eye while blending it into Blazing.

On to the lid, I went with this gorgeous rich plum called Royal all over the lid.

After I patted Royal all over the lid making sure it blended smoothly into Saffron, and I went back in with Amethyst to reinstate the purple around the edges of the shadow.

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette - Celestial

For a pop of gold, I took Celestial which is a really complex shade. It’s a deep gold with a purple\pink shift. Every shade in this palette is surprising. I highly recommend you swatch this Desert Dusk at the very least because it’s so much more than it appears. 6

Moving on to the lower lash line, I took Amethyst once again and really blended out along the lower lash line and around to connect with the upper lid.

7

Then I deepened the lash line with Saffron once closer to the lash line and brought some of that Celestial shade down on the inner corner.

8

I lined my waterline with Nyx Faux Whites in Linen.

And lined the upper lash line with Nyx Faux Black in Black Berry.

I also pulled a little bit of that purple liner right at the lashes on the lower lash line.

To finish off the eye, I went in with my current favorite mascara.

The Lips.

For the lips, I wanted to tie into the warmth of Saffron and Blazing so I went with Catching Feels from Colourpop, This shade has become a favorite too.

I hope ya’ll enjoy seeing how I created this look. It was the from the first time playing with the Desert Dusk and was the makeup I wore for my birthday but I wanted to save it for V-Day. That’s all for today, I suspect a MOTD might be up tomorrow or the next day. I’ll see ya then.
