Good evening beauties, Since I just posted my review of the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette, I wanted to share a makeup tutorial using it for a super glam look. This is also my first go at doing the whole carved out lid with concealer cut crease thing on my hooded AF eyes.
I wanted to create a look using the beautiful glittery gold shade called Nefertiti and some of the more cranberry shades paired with a vampy lip.
So if you want to see how I got this ultra-glam look, just keep reading below!
You guessed it, the star of the show is the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette. If you missed my review here is a link: Review | Looks – Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette
As always there will be a full list of products used along with links to reviews and where to purchase at the end of the post!

The Eyes
For this look, I attempted a cut crease with concealer which is a new technique for me. Things got a little dicey but came together in the end. Next time I think I skip the concealer and just use the NYX Glitter Primer instead cause that stuff is amazing. I did have it on hand at the time, unfortunately.
Let’s get started on these eyeballs.

I primed my lids using the colourpop No filter Concealer and set with Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder, then dusted the shade Desert Sand all over the lid.
Time to start building up that transition in the socket line with the shade Eden.

On a large fluffy brush, I applied Eden into the socket line above the crease and blended it out softly toward the brow bone but keeping most the pigmentation in the socket as my transition shade.
To start getting some depth I went in with Amber on a smaller fluffy brush.

I placed Amber more concentrated into the socket and crease area blending it into Eden.
Closer to the crease I added in Saffron, a beautiful matte cranberry shade.

Saffron was really focused in the crease but was kind of lost after the next shade.

I ended up going in with Oud, a plum matte brown into the crease and blended up into Saffron and Amber. I may have gotten overzealous with this shade.
Now for the tricky part, carving out the crease. For this, I used the Colourpop No Filter Concealer on a flat brush.

In James Charles fashion I did the half cut crease thing and brought the concealer up higher than my natural crease to give the effect of a larger eye. I ended up liking how this came out despite being a little messy at first. Practice makes perfect though.
Over the top of that concealer, I patted on Nefertiti with a flat brush dampened with setting spray.

I blended Nefertiti and Oud together. This took a little back and forth to perfect. I could have blended a little better I think but I wanted to show you the real learning process, I have done makeup for 15 plus years and still struggle at times and am always learning.
Moving on to the liner, keeping with the drama I needed a hella wing. For this I used the Stila Got Inked Cushion Eye Liner in black.

Bam, wing done and on to the lower lash line and in with Amber starting at the outer corner and blending inward on a pencil brush.
I then added in Oud at the outer most corner and blended over into Amber and also added a bit of Saffron so often Oud.
And packed on Nerfertiti on the inner corner.
I finished off the eye look with mascara.

The Finished Eyes.
The Finished Look
For the lips, I went with a browny maroon. This one is NYX Liquid Suede in Club Hopper.
I wanted to go full coverage on the complexion because the eyes and lips are so full on, everything a little extra. I also wanted a pale golden glow to the skin and a warm blush.

Not too bad for a first attempt with the whole concealer thing. I’m def gonna play with the technique a little more and perfect my way of doing it. I do love the final look though and I felt great rocking this look even if it was just for a friend’s B-day party which was super casual. I have a reputation for being extra that must be kept up ya know. LOL. The Extra Goth. Maybe The Golden Goth since I love gold so much.
Anyway, Ya’ll stay gold ya crazy kids and I’ll see yous back here Friday, or hell, probably tomorrow for a MOTD.
