It’s time for the second edition of my Spring and Summer Lust or Busts ie new releases that have caught my eye. Today’s focus is just on Smashbox because they have some amazing new stuff I want to talk about. Let’s jump in.
So Smashbox released a collab with Vlada called the Petal Metal Collection and its rose gold perfection. I mean, such a stunning collection. The shades and the packaging are just so good. I want EVERYTHING!
This collection is pretty huge which is why I am devoting a whole post to just it.
First off is the Petal Metal Highlighter which comes in two rose gold inspired shades. The compact alone is gorgeous then the inlay on the product itself is such a high-end detail. I think both shades are lovely and can be pretty universal.
There is the shade called Gilded Rose which is a gold with pink and gold pearl and there is the shade Rosemantic which is a soft bronze with a gold pearl.
Next up is the Photo Finish Petal Metal Primer which is an illuminating face primer to give a nice glow to the skin.
Then there is the Petal Metal Shimmer Drops which you can use in a myriad of ways. You have the shade Rose Glitz which is a rose gold shimmer and the shade Gold Glitz which is a champagne shimmer. Again both are beautiful.
Moving on to the eyes there is the Cover Shot Petal Metal Eyeshadow Palette, probably the least exciting thing in the collection but still really pretty. It’s an updated and compact version of the Naked 3.
Next is the Petal Metal Liquid Eye Liner. I love these shades! You have 24K Rose which is a metallic rose gold and then there is Black Gold which is a black with a rose gold pearl. I really want the Black Rose shade. So pretty!
On to the lips. There are 6 different lippies in the collection 3 Metal Mattes and 3 Metal Liquid Lips. The Always on Petal Metal Matte Liquid Liquid Lipsticks is the formula that dries down. I love all 3 shades and need them.
The Be Legendary Petal Metal Liquid Lips are more of a tradition liquid lipstick formula which doesn’t dry down. Like a really pigmented gloss. I actually like this formula myself and again I want all 3 of these.
A couple extras in the collection are the Petal Metal Swarovski Eye Liner Jewels. Yeah, these are really pretty but Imma pass. 50 bucks for some liner stickers. Nah. I get they are made of Swarovski Crystals but I would NEVER use them. Just pass.
Lastly for the Vlada Collection is the Petal Metal Shimmer Spray. Yes, please. It’s an illuminating setting spray which every brand is launching right now but this one is rose gold.
This Cover Shot Eye Palette isn’t part of the Petal Metal Collection but I thought it was really pretty and something different so I wanted to include it. I LOVE these shades.
Vlada’s collection has actually inspired me to shop my own stash and pull out all the rose gold goodies I have and see what dupes I may own. Post on that coming soon because Smashbox isn’t the only brand bringing back the rose gold.
