Good Afternoon, I hope everyone had a good weekend. I did for sure and I have a few pictures, a MOTD and an OOTD to share with ya’ll today. I meant to get this up Monday but yesterday was a complete fail. It consisted of me just trying to stay awake long enough to get back on a day schedule because I stayed up WAY too late Saturday.
Morning, afternoon… whatever. LOL.
First up, here is a little teaser of Friday’s Get the Look Post.
So, this past weekend was Riverfete. Cenla’s version of Coachella minus the cool outfits and celebrities. But it is a lot of fun and there are tons of bands, food, and booths. There is even a stage just for metal bands and indie music. I think there were 4 stages this year? I’m not sure. Riverfete encompasses most of downtown Alexandria. It was huge this year compared to last year.
We went with a big group and just hung out, caught some bands and walked around. I didn’t take a picture of my makeup because it was pretty basic. I was more concerned with being comfortable because it was pretty warm out and we did a LOT of walking. Speaking of the walking. Last year I was in such a bad state with my weight and health I could barely walk around, in fact, I had a panic attack midway walking from the car to the event because I was in so much pain. This year I took full advantage of being pain-free and walked my ass off and I loved every second of it. I feel free. Being in so much pain that you can’t take more than 10 steps was a whole new level of claustrophobic. I felt trapped in my own body. It’s hard to describe it, I felt like a prisoner and I never want to feel that way again because it was miserable. I have scoliosis which is why I do have hip and back pain but I also was a lot heavier than I am now. It got so bad that I couldn’t barely stand or even do stuff around the house. Not to harp on about Keto but that gave me my life back. I didn’t hurt hardly at all Saturday and was just sore Sunday from walking so much but no more than anyone else would be. I can’t relate to you how happy I am. I was never unhappy really because I was overweight. It was the fact I hurt so bad. I did decide to lose weight and change my lifestyle to look better, it was to feel better and the other is just a bonus. That being said, Imma shows off my progress. I’m gonna start back going to the gym this week too. I’m excited about that because I enjoy weight training so much. Anyway, back to Riverfete.
I did take an outfit pic. I love the bathroom at the Bently Hotel, so bougie. Look at all the marble.
We all went over to the Mirror Room that evening which is downtown as well to catch our friend’s last show in Cenla as he is moving to Memphis next month.
Here is a shot of the ceiling lobby at the Hotel Bently where The Mirror Room is located. So beautiful.
After some more wandering around and going by The Melting Pot, another bar, we caught the tail end of a metal show and headed back to The Brewhouse before ending the night.
I took a bath once we got home and then laid in bed watching funny videos with my husband until almost 6 in the morning. I was so tired too cause I had only slept 4 hours for some reason the day before. I made up for that Sunday and slept until 9pm. Which led to Monday’s struggle. But I’m all sorted out now.
Now for the MOTD. I did this look just for fun last Friday I believe but I just now getting around to posting it on here and Instagram. I attempted a real cut crease look. I don’t hate it. I used the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette on the eyes and Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Ricco on the lips. I was having one of those days where I wanted to feel super glam.
And that’s all for this post. Tomorrow I will be reviewing the new brow pomade from Kat Von D so keep an eye out. I’ll see ya then.
