Happy Friday! Is it bad I am super excited because today is my cheat day. I have already had a donut, boudin kolache and a mocha latte this morning and I am working on a Dr. Pepper. Tonight, we are going to get dinner at Ghengis which is kind of like bibimbap that you pick out everything yourself and they cook it. I have been craving it for weeks but it’s a rice-based dish so I have been saving it for a cheat day. I might get a sushi roll too! Get the Look | Pink Mist - Vaporwave Retro Futurism Makeup Tutorial feat. Huda Beauty, Colourpop and Anastasia Beverly Hills

Anyway, today I have another retro-futurism/vaporwave inspired look. This one is called Pink Mist after a Gunship song again too. I saw the image in the background on Pinterest and I was so inspired by the colors and the geometric shapes and wanted to so a look based on it. For this look, I used shades from the Huda Beauty Electric Obsessions Palette, Warm Obsessions, and Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture.

I wanted to get a little out of the ordinary with this one and bring in some more avant-garde and goth elements with a colorful neon glow. I am really having fun stepping out of the box with color and just going by what feels good and not sticking to a formula.

If you want to see how I created this look, just keep reading below for all the details and a step by step.

The palette I pulled most the vibrant shades from is the Huda Beauty Electric Obsessions but I also jumped into the Warm Obsessions for a shade as well as the Anastasis Beverly Hills Subculture. As always you don’t need these particular products just shades similar.

I started out with my eyebrows filled in and my eyes primed with concealer and set with a translucent powder.

I first reached for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture for the shade Roxy. In retrospect, this was not a necessary step because this shade doesn’t really show in the final look.

I blended Roxy all through the socket and transition area on a large fluffy brush.

Jumping over to the Electric Obsessions Palette I next went in with hot peach shade.

The hot peach went all over the lid and blended into Roxy and really blown out.

To add some depth I went in with this vibrant deep pinky red.

I thought it looked a little too pink and not warm enough so I went in with a rusty orange over top to tone down the pink in the outer V. This shade is from the Huda Beauty Warm Obsessions.

As you can see, it pulled in more orange so it looks more like the shades in the inspiration picture.

Moving on to the inner corner I took Cube from the ABH Subculture which is a pink duo-chromatic shade.

Cube adds that electric glow to the eye.

For the winged liner, I first traced the shape in with Nyx Liquid Suede in Little Denim Dress just to get the shape and a base.

Next I took the matte blue from the Electric Obsessions over top of the liner and perfected the shape.

This gave me the perfect shade of blue that I was looking for.Pink mist (11) I wanted the wing to be strong, crisp and almost geometric.

Pink mist (8)

Jumping to the lower lash line, I blended the hot peach all along the lower lash line really blending it out.

Pink mist (9)

Then I got a wild hair and blended the shadow all the way down on my cheekbone where I would highlight and mixed it in with my blush shade which is a coral color.  Pink mist (13)I also deepened the right at the lash line with the rust shade for depth and hit the inner corner with Cube and pulling it inward as if I were highlighting my eye bag. This is a new thing I am really into inspired by K-beauty.  I lined the waterline with a pale skin tone liner to give some definition while also giving a wide doll eye effect and creating a barrier between the pink and eye.

The Finished Eye

After a few coats of mascara and browbone, highlight from ABH Moonchild Glow Kit in Pink Heart and the eyes are done!

The Lips

For the lips, I wanted to keep the neon glowing vibes so first I went in with Kathleen Lights x Colourpop Dream Team Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick in Rever as it is a vibrant fiery orange-red.

I love this lippy so much!

But to pull some pink into it and a shift, I patted Cube from the Subculture palette into the center.

The Finished Look

For the coral blush I used Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Deserving and highlighted with Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild Glow Kit in Pink Heart and that is the look.

Just when the lights go down
You’re just a breath away
You hold on to my heart

When it all fucks up, you’re the dynamo
Hold your head up, let the waves break
You’re the dynamo – Pink Mist, Gunship

I hope ya’ll like this look and got some inspiration to be a little creative. I really enjoyed the outcome. It’s retro but futuristic with some goth and k-beauty undertones. Sorry, I was a derp and didn’t write down what other products I used for my complexion. I completely forgot.

Everyone have a kickass weekend and I will see ya’ll back here Monday or who knows, maybe tomorrow. I have more posts I want to do than time. LOL.
