Good Evening! Spring has finally arrived here in Louisiana and is well on it’s way to becoming Summer so, it’s time for a seasonal edit of all the makeup I have been into thus far in Spring and what I know I will be reaching for all Summer. After this long cold Winter, I am ready for some warm weather.
I have been really into colorful looks, very vaporwave inspired. Very Miami Vice inspired with a cyberpunk futuristic twist. But I have also really been loving rose gold looks and glowy skin. I’m definitely stepping out of my coffin lately and getting more creative and loving every second of it.
I don’t really change my makeup based on the season. Like if I want to do a heavy smoky eye, I’m gonna do it. This is more a way of showing the products I have been reaching for. Like a current favorites but in a seasonal format. That being said, I enjoy the change of season and seeing the new trends, and finding ones I like and want to add to my repertoire.
Let’s get started!
The Skin
Most important year round of course but especially this time of the year because we tend to be outdoors more and in the sun. Sunscreen!

I am a huge fan of these two. One is the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen with SPF 45. This one doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy and plays well with makeup.
On the lighter side, I really enjoy the Jan Marini Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant. I use this one on days I am less likely to be outdoors and the Neutrogena on more sunny occasions. I am a vampire so I don’t see the sun often but I also have very fair skin that burns in a second so I need all the SPF I can get. I have a full review of the Jan Marini Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant here: Skincare Review | Jan Marini Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 33.
If you are on a budget I would go for the Neutrogena because it offers decent protection that wears well without feeling too heavy or greasy. I would almost say it is a dupe for the Jan Marini but the ingredients are different as the Jan Marini offers some skincare. On the other hand, the Neutrogena has a higher SPF.
The Eyes
Moving along to my favorite subject. Eyeshadow. Like I said, I have been really into color, especially the shades in the Huda Beauty Electric Palette. It screams 80’s retro-futurism to me. I have had so much fun with it.

In general, I have been LOVING Huda Beauty’s eye palettes. The Desert Dusk is perfect for creating those romantic Summer sunset looks. I can’t wait to get the new version of the Rose Gold one and the two new obsession palettes.

For the days I am wanting a more neutral is shade look but still glam I am adoring the Huda Beauty Warm Obsession and the Mauve Obsession. I am still in love with warm eyeshadows looks with reds, orange, pinks and purple tones and pairing looks with a deep red liner like Best O from Colourpop.

I have also been getting some use out of the ABH Subculture. I am really loving the shades Cube, Electric, New Wave, Roxy, and Edge. I have a new Get the Look coming up Friday with this guy.

Here a few eye looks I have been doing using all the palettes I mentioned above. I will include links to the tutorials for a few of these at the end of the post.
The Glow
When is glowy skin not a thing? I know I always want to highlight for the Gods and I have been living for hued highlights and combining shades. I know colored highlighters aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. I’m not one to wear a damn rainbow on my face but I love the more subtle duo-chromatic shades that have a slight shift. I think they can give the skin a beautiful otherworldly glow. Sometimes I go for the more romantic angelic look, other days I want to look like I stepped out of 2525 and am half alien.

I am so excited about ABH’s new glow kit! I’m going to need that one. The Sugar Glow Kit has been my day to day highlighter palette.

Another thing I have been into speaking of glow is using a liquid highlighter mixed in or under my foundation for a lit from within glow. Depending on the look, I use different ones. Sometimes I go with the Marc Jacob Dew Drops but mostly I use these two.

I go the Maybelline one days when I want just a neutral glow with no distinct color. It has a pink tint but on me, it’s almost an icy white shine. On the days I want the more out of the future skin, or to play up my paleness I go with the Hello Halo from WetnWild in the shade Halographic. It’s a white base with purple / blue shift. It’s amazing under foundation. It gives the most perfect vampiric aura to the skin.

The Blush
I may look like a ghost but I don’t want to look like a corpse and I love blush. I think it’s so underrated.

The two I have been really into are very opposite from one another. I adore the Wet N Wild Color Icon Ombre Blush in Purple Haze. It has a slight sheen to it and is softly pigmented. It doesn’t look purple on the skin either. It’s a must-have for the pale girl in my opinion.

And on the other end of the spectrum is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Deserving. It vibrant pinky coral. This isn’t a shade I was that into until I used it in my Retro-Futurism Makeup Tutorial and have used it constantly since. I have to use quite a light hand because she is pigmented! I actually got this one free in a gift set years ago so I’m not sure if it’s still around but it’s not a unique shade. There are millions like it on the market.

Looks like Harrods, Sephora and Selfridges carry her stuff. I believe her site ships internationally from Dubai.
