Wet N Wild Photo Focus Concealer Review + Demo

Wet N Wild Photo Focus Concealer Review + Dem
Wet N Wild Photo Focus Concealer Review + Demo

Good Morning. Still struggling to get back into my routine over here but better late then never right? Today, I have a review and demo of the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Concealer. I’m a little late to the party on this one but I had a bit of a hard time tracking this one down locally. I wanted to see the shades in person. The odd thing is most my local retailers carry Wet N Wild but didn’t have the concealer. I finally found it at Target and picked up the lightest shade (Suprise Suprise). I have been testing it out for a couple weeks now and have gathered my thoughts so let’s jump into this review.

The Packaging and Component

The Wet N Wild Photo Focus Concealer comes in your typical component with a doe foot applicator. Nothing special there. It is shorter than the normal tube.

The Shade Range

Hands down, the shade range is lacking with only 6 shades. I have the lightest shade which is just barely light enough for me, it’s actually deeper than my shade in the Photo Focus Foundation but works fantastic with my shade in the Cushion Foundation. My shade in the concealer in Light Ivory for reference. If they came out with a porcelain I would be thrilled and some more shades just to flesh out the range.

The Formula + Coverage

This concealer promises to give no flashback and look perfect under any lighting. Wet N Wild says they tested the formula under seven different photo lighting conditions and to give no white cast which is pretty cool. The product is fairly thin while offering full yet luminous coverage. It’s not unlike the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in that respect. It’s nearly a dupe if you ask me. I really like the consistency and how well it blends.

The Coverage is pretty damn great too as you will see below in the demo. While it does claim to be full coverage and very well can be, you can also wear it sheerly with no foundation at all and it meshes right into your skin. This isn’t like Tarte Shape Tape coverage or formula. More akin to Maybelline Fit Me Concealer or the original Too Faced Born this Way Concealer and as I said the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.

It’s a forgiving formula that doesn’t get cakey or heavy.  It’s very lightweight in fact and just easy to work with.

The Demo + Performance

Performance wise, I think this concealer does a great job. it blends easily, covers imperfections and lasts a decent amount of time. I wouldn’t call it a long wear concealer but when set properly she’ll do the trick.

Here is my under eye without concealer, I don’t have much trouble with blue or sallow tones but I do have redness and a ton of freckles. I have applied my foundation but avoided the undereye.

And here is all the places the applied in where I wanted a helping hand in coverage.

In this close up of the concealer unblended, it looks like a lot but it’s a thin formula and it really isn’t.

Once it’s blended out, I used a damp beauty sponge it looks kind of perfect. I set it lightly with Maybelline Fit Me Loose Setting Powder. I really love the finish.

Here is my face finished up. I feel like my skin looks luminous, healthy and skin like. Not at all heavy or cakey.  I am wearing the Wet N Wild Cushion Foundation as well. These photos are also unedited aside from cropping and resizing.

I feel like this concealer maintains a youthful appearance while giving amazing coverage. I do wish it came in a shade lighter though because in this demo I have a “tan” so come winter, it’s going to be too dark I fear.

The Verdict

This is a beautiful product giving high-end concealers a run for their money. If it comes in your shade, I highly recommend it. The price point is crazy good coming in at $3.99 and is cruelty-free!

You can purchase the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Concealer from most retailers who carry Wet N Wild.  Like I said, I found mine at Target.  I found it on Amazon as well for the same price here: https://amzn.to/2PRvfMU

That’s all for me today. I have a new tutorial coming up tomorrow! I’m also working on My Ultimate Brush Guide. Also, how did you like the format of this post? I am still trying to nail that perfect formula for product reviews. Let me know your thoughts below on that and the concealer.

  1. Yess, good thing you did a review I’ve been curious about their concealer! I’m trying to find a better one since the Maybelline age rewind is expensive.
