Today, I have a review and swatches of the Kat Von D Beauty Fetish Blush and Highlight Palette for Holiday 2018.  To my knowledge, this is KVD’s first foray into face palettes beyond contouring and highlighters. I was very excited to see blushes and in such classic and unique shades. Also, this is the first time I am diving into her highlighters.

I found the outer packaging to be particularly eye-catching. It’s made of the same vegan patent leather as the eyeshadow palette which I reviewed here

It’s in a creamy lingerie nude shade with intrastate stitching on the logo and trimmed in a matte red faux leather. I really like the combination of this cream shade and the red. Again, it fits the S&M aesthetic and also reminds me of some high-end pumps.

Inside is the same detailing as the eye palette with a large incredibly functional mirror with a whip printed on it. The packaging is very sturdy as well.  This palette looks like a lovely set of vintage lingerie to me.

The Shades + Finishes

Inside you have a really interesting mix of shades of matte blushes and shimmery Metal Crush Extreme Highlighters in complementing monochromatic shades, two of which are exclusive to the palette.

These blushes are a preview of a coming blush range called the Everlasting Blush.

The Metal Crush Highlighters are not your everyday highlighter as they are very shimmery and glittery. I would use them more as a blush topper considering the pigmentation of the shades themselves are quite strong then top with a more traditionally formulated highlighter. Glittery highlights are not everyone’s cup of tea nor the more out there shades but I enjoy them for a fun look. You can wear them sheer or built up for a very glittery glam effect.

The Everlasting Blushes are matte but very smooth. They also can be worn sheer or built up, you can also layer and mix and match.

Bathory  Everlasting Blush

Bathory is a bright rosy pink matte blush leaning cool.

Magick Metal Crush Highlighter

Magick is a warm peach Metal Crush Highlighter with soft gold shimmer and a gentle pink shift. Exclusive to the palette.

Salem Everlasting Blush

Salem is a warm peach matte blush.

Telepathy Metal Crush Highlighter

Telepathy is a more lavender highlight with a blue shift featuring blue and pink shimmers.

Coven Everlasting Blush

Coven is a matte lavender purple blush which coordinates with the Everlasting Creme Lipstick in Coven.

The Swatches

Here are the 3 matte blushes and the Metal Crush Highlighters under two lightings.

The Verdict

The Fetish Blush + Highlighter Palette retails for $43 but is currently on sale for $21.50 which makes this a great value at the sale price so if these colors speak to you I would say check it out.

Overall, the quality is there, the packaging is awesome and I enjoy the mix of shades.
