Hey guys, today I have a quick review of the Kat Von D Best of Nudes Mini Studded Kiss Lipstick Set. I really liked the tones included in this set and wanted to give the revamped formula a try and Sephora had this little set on sale for half price so I had too. I was getting a little bored with my nude lips collection.

Now, I love mini lipsticks, I don’t know how the rest of the world feels but I enjoy a good variety of shades for a deal. Also, I never use up a lipstick before they expire so this is ideal for me.

The Best of Nudes from KVD is a really cool set because it includes shades of nude that can work for everyone. It’s not just shades of peach. They are really unique shades that I didn’t have in my collection. It’s a set of very versatile neutrals.
The revamped formula is a million times improved too. I have some of the older formulae and did a review on my collection at that time. Not all shades were created equal or well so the improvement was much needed and appreciated. You can see my original review along with lip swatches of my collection here.
In this set you have 6 shades of varying neutrals or nudes. All are a matte finish aside from Piaf which has a subtle shimmery shift.
The Swatches and Shades
Let’s get into the shade and the lip swatches.

Here’s a look at the shades next to one another so you can see the undertones and differences.

Now for the lip swatches.
Piaf

First up is Piaf, a cool chocolate with blue shimmers throughout giving it a cool shift. This is a shade I have wanted for some time because it’s so different. This one took a little building up but otherwise wore great.
Crucifix

Crucifix is a deep warmer chocolate shade with a matte finish. Not patchy at all during application and wore well.
Sanctuary

Sanctuary is a nude coffee. This one has cool undertones and a matte finish. Sanctuary has quickly become my go to shade from the set right now. Pigmentation is great.
Hawkwind

My other favorite, Hawkwind, nude sienna with a matte finish.
Bow n Arrow

I feel like Bow n Arrow is a classic shade from KVD. It’s one of those easy go to peachy nudes. Bow n Arrow is described as a matte fawn nude.
Ophelia

And last but not least is Ophelia which is a nude chestnut. I haven’t worn this shade yet beyond the swatch but I can tell this will be a spring staple.
Across the board, all these shades performed great and I would gladly purchase a full size of Hawkwind and Sanctuary.
The formula is comfortable on the lips, has a decent wear time and didn’t feel drying like her older formula could.
The Kat Von D Beauty Best of Nudes Mini Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick Set retails for $44 but is half off in KVD.com right now bringing it to $22 which is what a set of minis should retail for if you ask me. Kat’s prices have been trying it the last couple of years. I feel like they have gone up. Anyway, all her holiday stuff is half off right now.
I have some more mini lippie sets to review this week and the Lolita palette coming up along with some MOTDs, Lust or Busts and tutorials.
These look great, and I have always loved the packaging of Kat Von D products. x
