Lust or Bust | Holiday 2018 – Fenty Beauty, Pat McGrath, and Huda Beauty

Finally, the last edition of Holiday 2018 Lust or Bust. Cutting it kind of close but there still time for shopping and gift cards to spend.

In today’s Lust or Bust, we will be looking the Holiday Collections from Fenty Beauty, Pat McGrath, and Huda Beauty. I know only did a few of these posts this year but like I said in those, there just wasn’t that much I was into but there were a few standouts

Let’s get started.

Fenty Beauty

I thought Fenty put out a really pretty collection this year. Just pretty to look at on the outside and everything in the collection looked beautiful in person. While the products themselves aren’t super exciting, they lovely. I like how all the products are versatile. And the shade names as always are really cute.

I don’t own a whole lot from Fenty yet, but what I have and tried I absolutely love. I love the creativity and the fun side Fenty has.

First up is the Avalanche All – Over Metallic Powder Set. Inside you have 7 metallic pigments you can use all over, from body, face, and eyes in a vibrant range of shades.

I love the idea of this set, the colors are nothing new but I love the presentation. However, when we get to the price I am turned off coming in at $99.

This set contains:
– 7 x Loose Pigment in February (metallic violet), Cleopatra (metallic green-gold), Foxy (metallic terracotta), Raspberry Rave (metallic berry), Brain Freeze (metallic gunmetal), Ice Cream (metallic gold), Glacier Gang (metallic blue)

Next is the Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Palette for $54. I like how this palette has a unique shade range, not super wearable but can be used as more than just highlighter. I like the layout out the palette a lot and I think it would be great for some cool avant-garde style looks.

This set contains:
– 7 x 0.1 oz/ 2.83 g Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighters in Subzero (supercharged iridescent blue), Stone Cold (supercharged icy pink), Chillz (supercharged iridescent baby blue shimmer), Heart Burn (metallic plum shimmer), Coppin Ice (supercharged copper), Hunny Slope (metallic pumpkin shimmer), Scandal’ice (supercharged iridescent lilac shimmer)

At first, I thought the Frost Bunny. Frost Hunny and Frost Money Frosted Metal Lipstick sets were eye pencils. While they are called lipsticks it says you can use them for liner and shadow as well which really is a selling point because the shades would be awesome for both. I could see doing some beautiful looks with these.

This set contains:

Frost Bunny:
-3 x 0.04 oz/ 1.4 g Metallic Eye + Lip Crayons in Banana Frost, Parka Princess, Guava Mint

Frost Hunny:
-3 x 0.04 oz/ 1.4 g Metallic Eye + Lip Crayons in Sunfrost, Ice Dunes, Pretty Penny

Frost Money:
-3 x 0.04 oz/ 1.4 g Metallic Eye + Lip Crayons in $lu$sh Fund, Igloo Bloo, Smokin’ Purp

Snow Daze & Snow Nights Frosted Metal Lipstick sets are also quite nice. The Snow Nights set looks so cool. I wouldn’t personally use the blue but the other two shades are awesome. I love the purple silver. Same situation with the Snow Daze set. I love the red and gold but man, I hate hot pink.

This set contains:

Snow Daze:
– 3 x 0.65 oz/ 1.9 g Lipsticks in Cuffing Season, What’s Your Numb’a, So Chilli

Snow Nights:
– 3 x 0.65 oz/ 1.9 g Lipsticks in No Chill, Frost $auce, Fog Snog

Next up are a couple cute stocking stuffers, Two Lil Mattemoiselles Chill Owt Edition with two deluxe sample size of the Mattemoistselle Lipsticks in the shades Griselda and Spanked. I love those shades and am contemplating picking this up just to try the formula out. I love mini sets so much.

The Mini Fairy Bomb is just cute as hell. It’s a puff pre-packed with shimmer for the body. It’s in the shade Candy Sparks which is a glimmering iridescent pink. I doubt you are getting much product here but it’s a sweet little gift, just something cute and special.

Lastly from Fenty, there are two “Vault” sets. You have the Match Stix by the Dozen which includes 12 mini Matchsticks all in a shimmer finish. There are the five best sellers and 7 new exclusive shades. This set has some really pretty and interesting colors. I’m into it.

This set contains:
– 12 x 0.09 oz/ 2.8 g Mini Match Stix Shimmer Skinsticks in Bordeaux Brat (radiant berry), Champagne Heist (glittering champagne), Starstruck (iced-out pearl), Yacht Lyfe (glimmering peach-pink), Ridiiic (golden papaya), Confetti (iridescent purple), Pink Lemonade (glimmering pink), Hibi$Cu$ (shimmering grapefruit), Beach Bum (radiant peach), Blonde (glimmering gold), Cognac (gilded chestnut), Platinum Pearl (iced-out platinum)

And finally, you have the Mattemoiselle 10/10 which contains all new full-size shades. These shades are listed to be sold individually as well. I am loving the “F’N Black”, “I Quit” and “Thicc” shades.

There were also some more sporadic single launchs like a couple new gloss bomb shades, the Diamond Bomb Highlighter which is amazing and some Stunna Lip Paints. Oh, and she just launched the Fairy Bomb Shimmer Powder in 3 shades.

Pat McGrath Labs

Aunty Pat, what can I say? I want everything you make. I am a frugal bitch though and just can’t bring myself to spend that much on eyeshadows. One day I will but today isn’t that day. However, I can lust over the products for now. Did mention I love everything about Pat McGrath, her artistry is on another level.

Let’s talk about these little beauties, I want all 3 of these mini Mthrshp palettes. That’s all I can say, they stunning like the other palettes she has launched and they need to be in my collection.

MTHRSHP Subversive Metalmorphosis Eyeshadow Palette contains 6 stunning metallic shades. The description of these shades online is making me feel some type of way.

Inside you have:

Eyeshadows in Metallurgy (metallic forged gold), Copper (vivid metallic copper), Sterling (ultra-metallic silver), Smoked Amethyst (pearlized purple obsidian), Bronze (blazing metallic bronze), Gold Standard (gleaming 24-karat gold)

Next is the MTHRSHP Subliminal Dark Star Eyeshadow Palette with all the cool-toned interstellar vibes. In this palette, you have a mix of finishes. I really want this one too. It’s speaking to that Scifi nerd in me which is what I like about most her products, they seem to have a very cyberpunk/ Scifi inspiration meets luxury. She’s speaking my language.

This Palette Contains:
Eyeshadows in Entice (gleaming glittering gold), Deep Space (smoky matte gray), Enraptured (gleaming metallic gold), Dark Matter (silky onyx sheen), Metropolis (pearlized aubergine), Interstellar (iridescent metallic blue)

And last for eyeshadow palettes there is the MTHRSHP Sublime Bronze Temptation Eyeshadow Palette. I just want to swim in these shades, they are so pretty! Again in this palette, you have a mix of finishes. This one just screams luxe.

This Palette Contains:
Eyeshadows in Celestial (luminous champagne), Burning Desire (matte terra cotta), Supernova (sparkling emerald green), Dark Paradise (noir-tinged brick red), Corruption (bronzed burgundy), Provactix (golden bronze duo-chrome)

Next are some new lipsticks. First up is the MatteTrance Lipstick Mini in Elson. This is a shade already in her line just in limited edition red packaging for holiday and in mini size. If you haven’t already tried the MattTrance Lipsticks, they are one of the best formulas my lips have ever felt.

I didn’t grab a picture but there is also a Limited Edition full size of Omi with the red packaging like the mini.

For something more fun there is the BlitzTrance Lipstick in 6 new shades. These have what is described as an iridescent finish. That berry shade called Club Kiss is calling my name.

I love these next sets, The BlitzTrance Divine Lipstick Duos is a really cool idea, you get a full-size matte shade and one of the new BlitzTrance shades to pair with it. I am living for the Ruby set.

This Set Contains:

BlitzTrance Divine Duo Aquamarine:
– 0.14 oz/ 4 g MatteTrance Lipstick in Guinevere
– 0.14 oz/ 4 g BlitzTrance Lipstick in Fuchsia Perfect

BlitzTrance Divine Duo Pink Sapphire:
– 0.14 oz/ 4 g MatteTrance Lipstick in Christy
– 0.14 oz/ 4 g BlitzTrance Lipstick in Flesh Fatale

BlitzTrance Divine Duo Ruby:
– 0.14 oz/ 4 g MatteTrance Lipstick in Omi
– 0.14 oz/ 4 g BlitzTrance Lipstick in Rebel Red

And lastly from Pat is the Lust: Mini MatteTrance Lipstick Trios. I saw these and the price and immediately bought the Skin Show set. I love these so much, that I want to get the Blitz Set as well. This formula is everything.

This Set Contains:

Skin Show Trio:
– 3 x 0.042 oz/ 1.2 g Mini MatteTrance Lipstick in Omi (mid-tone rose), 1995 (warm light nude), Flesh 3 (brown rose)

Colour Blitz Trio:
– 3 x 0.042 oz/ 1.2 g Mini MatteTrance Lipstick in Elson (blue red), Obsessed! (bright orange red), Full Panic (bright fuchsia)

Huda Beauty

Last but not least is Huda Beauty. She’s launched some lovely things this year.

First from Huda is The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette which looks so nice. I love the mix of textures and finishes, not mention the shades alone are stunning. I love these colors.

The formulas of these shadows look really interesting as well. The mattes are formulated with aloe vera and coconut oil. The pressed pearl shade has acacia, jojoba, and sunflower wax where the pressed glitters have an “innovative silicones for advanced adherence “. Well, I am intrigued.

What can I say about these beauties? I review the Emerald Obsessions here, this week and convinced myself I needed all the others in the process.

Moving on to some new lippies, there is the Power Bullet Metallic Lipsticks. That red. I need it.

And wrapping up Huda Beauty and this post a new Holiday Contour & Strobe Lip Set which contains a Mini Liquid Matte Lipstick in Heartbreaker, Mini Lip Strobe in Shameless, and a Full-Size Lip Contour Matte Pencil in Heartbreaker. A nice little set for the holidays in an odd tin. This would be a great stocking stuffer at the $25 price point.

Phew, that’s everything. I hope next year brings us more new and innovative beauty. What do you want to see from Beauty in the new year? Not only innovation, I want to see fewer launches just to churn out crap but quality special releases and more brands using cleaner ingredients and going cruelty-free. And no more of this cancel culture bull shit. I am over it.

  1. I’m liking the looks of the Huda nude palette and the emerald palette (because I have zero green in my shadow collection and have been wanting to try). Thanks for the scoop, Chica!
