Alright guys, in today’s post I have a full face of my favorite makeup products of 2018 and all the favorites I couldn’t fit on my face. We’re going to go through all the makeup products I loved in 2018 plus some of my favorite looks and styles I ventured into.
In case you missed it, I went through all my Lifestyle favorites here and my Hair, Skin and Nails loves over here.
Let’s jump in and talk about all the beauty products I loved last year.
The Eyes
Starting out with eyes, because I always start with my eyes when I am doing my makeup.

For my eyes in this look, I used my most loved palette from Huda Beauty, the Warm Obsessions and paired it with the Norvina palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills, another love of 2018.

I didn’t really come across any groundbreaking brow products this past year that are that note worthy beyond experimenting with soap brow.

However, in the eyeshadow department, Huda Beauty stole my heart. It started with getting the Desert Dusk Palette from my birthday last January and I loved it so much I bought all the Obsession palettes that were out at the time. I still don’t have them all yet because ya girl got bills to pay but I used these palettes constantly throughout the year. I did tons of tutorials using them and reviewed each one. In case you want to check out the review and see more looks I did with each palette I have linked them all below.

Aside from my Huda Beauty eyeshadow obsession. I adored the Norvina Palette, and not pictured the Subculture palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I really need to pick up Soft Glam.
I reviewed both Subculture and Norvina this year and created so many looks I loved, especially with Subculture. I think I bought it in the fall of 2017 but used it a lot throughout 2018. I forgot how many looks and how much I used it last year until just now. Norvina, I love and I really want to play with more this year.
A later love in 2018 was the Kat Von D Fetish Palette. It includes a rather odd assortment of shades but all pretty and I felt like added to my creativity. I have a review and looks with the Fetish palette here.

When it came to eyeliner last year, I didn’t have much luck with any until later in the year when my friend Chandra told me to try the Wet N Wild MegaLast Retractable Eyeliner. It’s fantastic for the price and I keep reaching for it. I used it for the tight line which it lasts pretty well in but will transfer a bit but I loved it for just lining my eyes and surprisingly for doing wings.
As for a more expensive liner, the Nars Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Via Venito (black). This one is amazingly long wearing and budge proof, plus it twists so no need to sharpen.
And for liquid liner, Fenty Fly Liner. Hands down the best liquid liner I have used. Both it and the Nars will be repurchased.
L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise
Wrapping up the eyes, I loved two mascaras hardcore last year, L’oreal Lash Paradise and L’Oreal Voluminous Original in Burgundy. I also had quite the love affair with false lashes. I made them my bitch in 2018. I used to despise wearing false lashes but I started using the Faux Mink lashes from Ardell with the Duo Adhesive in the green brush on formula. Game changed. Apparently I didn’t know how to trim lashes before or use the right glue. Every other one I have tried burned my eyes so bad.
The Complexion
On to the complexion, ie foundation, concealer, primer, setting powder.

Here I am wearing a combination of the Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir and Maybelline Superstay Foundation (review here) which together created my holy grail. Now, I went to go get some info on Vitalist Healthy Elixir only to find it not listed on the Covergirl site anymore. I hope they are just rebranding it and expanding the shade range because damn it’s good. I review it here.
Another foundation I was completely taken with through the warmer months and days I didn’t want to fuss too much with makeup was the Wet N Wild Cushion Foundation. Incredible product. You can read my full review of it here.
Honorable mentions for foundations are also the Wet N Wild Photofocus and Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless.

Oh and primer, Nyx Angel Veil primer. I hear it’s a dupe for the Hourglass Primer. I can’t speak to that but I really liked how it made my skin look under foundation.
For concealer, I adored the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define (review here) they have a great shade range and formula, plus, it’s crazily affordable. I also repurchased Maybelline Age Rewind (review here) and fell back in love with it. When Jackie Aina said it was a joy to blend, she wasn’t lying. It really is just a lovely product and they did expand the shade range somewhat.
One powder stuck around all year and never let me down was the Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder (review here). The hype is real.
And honorable mention for powder is also the Photofocus from Wet N Wild.
Lastly for complexion and a repeat from last year is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal. A pale gal’s best friend shade wise and just a stunning product to finish the skin.
The Blush + Glow
On to blush and highlighters. No new contour or bronzer loves last year.

My ass finally jumped on the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso bandwagon. Holy shit, it is just a beautiful as everyone made it out to be. It gives the skin a healthy warm glow that would be stunning on a multitude of skin tones. I have been into Berry Amore for years and still love it too. Also from Milani is the Rose Blush in Tea Rose. This one is a matte soft rose shade, very subtle and soft. It’s a great everyday go-to. In the picture above of my full face, I used Tea Rose from Milani.
A love from later in the year is the Kat Von D Fetish Blush and Highlighter Palette. I love a good blush palette it. This one has a really cool mix of shades that I have been using almost non stop. I hope she brings out a line of blushes because these are just lovely. You can read all my thoughts on this guy here.
I loved me some highlighters in 2018. I was all about some blinding glow.

Firstly, the Wet N Wild Hello Halo Liquid Highlighters are amazing. I love them under foundation or for lighter makeup days in the shades Halo Goodbye (the pinkish one) and Halographic (white with a blue shift) depending on the look I was going for. I used Halo Goodbye paired with the Wet N Wild Mega Glow Highlighter in Blossom Glow. I used this combo countless times throughout 2018. The Hello Halos give the skin a beautiful natural or supernatural radiance depending on the shade and how you apply it.

Blossom Glow Mega Glow Highlighter is a stunning frosty in the best way pink toned highlighter. It’s a beautiful formula that is smooth and no glitter once so ever.
I have topped off my cheekbones with the Fenty Diamond Bomb in How Many Carats. This is a truly unique product. It appears white but actually has a transparent base so literally anyone can use this and get the most shimmery and elegant glittery finish. Its formula is similar to a Colourpop or Stila Highlighter as in it’s soft and mushy. I use this highlighter on my cheeks and my eyes for added pop. It’s just so good and worth every cent. I can’t say enough good things about the Fenty Diamond Bomb. I used it to top off every look since I got my claws on her.
And finally, when I wanted some variety, I went for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sugar Glow Kit which I have a full review of here.
The Lips
I have a lot of lipstick loves…
For lips on this day, I went with a mauve shade. I was either all about color or monochromatic looks last year. On my lips in the pictures above is Wet N Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Liner in Lay Down the Mauves which is my favorite one. The formula on these is incredible. Like better than high end good. Other lip liner loves were the Nyx Suede Lip Liners in Soft Spoken, Los Angeles, Alien and Club Hopper…And the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in the shade Walk of Shame for lip liners.

As a lipstick, I went with Nars Velvet Matte Lip Crayon in Vicious. I adore the Velvet Matte Lip Crayons from Nars. They are pigmented, long lasting and easy to use. The shades I reached for the most were Vicious (pinky mauve) Spike (deep wine) and Do Me Baby (Chestnut Rose).

Another matte formula I adored last year was the Wet N Wild Liquid Catsuit. The shade range is great with matte and metallic finishes. They have some pretty adventurous shades from drugstore as well. I reached for Caramel Cake, Give Me Mocha and So Noir Cool on a regular basis. The black one is fantastic! I love me a good black lippie.

Nyx Liquid Suedes are back again, I mentioned them in last year’s round up as well I believe. I have spoke so much about these and how much I love them. I just gonna list my favorite shades from 2018

- Soft Spoken (always)
- Disorder
- Clubhopper
- Crushed
- Downtown Beauty
- Brooklyn Thorn
- Vintage

I had quite a little fling with some Colourpop lippies too. Particularity Ultra Satin formula in Rever, Dreamy and Catching Feels. Then in the Ultra Matte Formula, I loved the shade Softii. Those are listed in order left to right.

And for some various one-off shades from different brands there was Stila Stay All Day in Patina, Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Ludwig, and Tarte Tartest Lip Paint in Obsessed which oddly, I gave a terrible review but kept using because I liked the shade so much.
As for more traditional lipstick, I had a few I loved. Especially later in the year.

First up is the Pat McGrath Matte Trance Lipsticks in the shades 1995, Omi, and Flesh 3. I love these so effing much.

From Kat Von D I found some new lipstick loves in the Studded Kiss range. Crucifix, Hawkwind, Ophelia, and Sanctuary. You can see my full review of these and lip swatches here.

Wrapping up lipsticks is; Jane Iredale in Molly, Bite Beauty in Chai and Charlotte Tilbury in Legendary Queen.
And for something I never thought I would have favorites of, lipgloss. I had quite the moment with some glosses and I loved it.

First up is Wet N Wild Color Icon Lipgloss in Capricorn. It’s a stunning multi-tonal shimmery almost metallic lip shade. I can’t get over how beautiful it is.
From Colourpop there is Moonchild, a creamy nude with micro sparkles and Charming, a more glittery golden shade which I used as my lipgloss above.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost in Velvet Wine was a definite go-to gloss. I love that shade so much and the formula.
And lastly for lips is the Marc Jacobs Glossy Stick in Uh huh Honey. They just tweeted a picture of me today wearing this one. I use it as a glossy topper for lipstick all the time. The glossy sticks are unique as they are a true lip gloss in a stick, kinda neat. It reminds me of a product my mom used to use went I was little minus the shimmer. Uh huh Honey is a cool toned copper. Very nineties in the best way.

That concludes all the products I loved in 2018. The look I created to go with this post is one that I haven’t done a tutorial on but it was a go-to quick glam look I did a lot throughout the year. I usually only used the Huda Warm Obsessions for it but I wanted to add Norvina in.
You can see a theme in shades I was really into, and still am.
In my next post going up tomorrow, I will have all my favorite looks from 2018. In 2018 I got more creative and inspired with makeup more so than I have been in a long time and I really found peace and happiness in it so I want to share some of the looks that I enjoyed creating the most in that post. As for my favorite products, this is the whole kit caboodle. I’ll see ya tomorrow for my favorite looks which is going up as a bonus post this week.
What were some of your faves? Let me know below!
That L’oreal mascara is so good! I’ve heard nothing but positive feedback about the Maybelline foundation too, what’s the fuller coverage like for everyday wear?

It’s great for everyday wear. You can go more sheer or build up with no cakeyness. It wears a long time too without breaking down.

Maybe I’ll give it a try when I’ve finished one or two of my other foundations! Is there a particular skin type it is better for?

I have super dry skin and it works well for me, I think it would do fine for combo and oily as well.
