2018 Beauty Edit | Favorite Looks of the Year

Bonus πŸ‘ Meme.πŸ‘ I mean bonus post. As promised in yesterday’s blog, I want to share some of my favorite looks from 2018 because I really had a blast with makeup last year.

For me, 2018 was the year I got a little more creative with makeup. I brought in more color and experimented, mastered the cut crease and faux lashes. Two things I never cared for before.

I pulled inspiration from new styles and places that pushed me to create some fun looks and get outside my box. I found a lot of my inspiration from music and artwork. Most of which was in the cyberpunk genre.

Here’s a look at some of my favorite looks from throughout the year.

Green.

I had a real moment with green eyeshadow which will continue into this year. I have always loved green eyeshadow and there have been so many lovely palettes this year that really fed that love. I went a little green crazy.

Cyberpunk + Vaporwave

I had the most fun creating these looks.

Romantic

If I wasn’t doing green or cyberpunk looks. I was all about some softer romantic looks with warm tones, roses, mauve, and purples.

Spooky

Another group of looks I had fun creating and got a little weird with it.

Dramatic

And of course there are just the flat out dramatic looks that I live for.

Mustard

My favorite color.

I did a lot of looks, I really tried just to pick my favorites from the year but dang there was a lot to choose from. There are tutorials for a good number of these looks which is noted in the captions, or you can just click my “Get the Look – Makeup Tutorials” category in the menu at the top of the page.

I can’t wait to create some more fun looks and tutorials for 2019. They truly are my favorite posts to make. I love writing about the techniques I use. I already have one in the works for this week which is a cool toned cyberpunk-ish look.

I’ll see ya tomorrow for a MOTD.
