The Nude Lip Edit.

Hey you guys. Today I thought I would do a quick rundown of all my favorite nude lipsticks. I have shades from a ton of brands in a variety of finishes and undertones. I figured this would be a good time to have a look at some of my faves in light of the Jaclyn Hill lipstick debacle. While it’s old news now, this post has been on my list of topics for quite some time and that fiasco kind of spurred me on.

As most of you know, my skin tone is vampiric and I am not a fan of super pale nude lips. I use the term “nude” quite loosely, I mean more neutral when I call a lipstick nude. Nude is such a broad term. It can mean any shade that is a skin tone. Finding that holy grail perfect nude is a whole other battle. I have multiple lipsticks I love as you will see that vary in shade and undertone.

When I was composing this list, I thought of what nude means now, and not the dated terminology that just meant beige. I looked to brands that strive for inclusivity and how they define nude for lipsticks. I think when we are speaking on nude lipstick, we don’t mean an exact match for our skin tone. It’s more of a loose idea of a “your lips but better” shade.

Let’s check out my picks.

First up is Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 1993, described as a medium brown in a comfort matte formula.

Next is Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Soft Spoken which is a mauve nude with a matte finish. This comes in a liner and traditional matte lipstick as well.

Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Sandstorm is described as a true nude with a matte finish.

      1. Cool. OMG that’s my favorite too. In fact I got a Marc Jacobs purse for my birthday with 5 lipsticks in it and slow burn is the one I wear the most. Also I recommend you a lipstick that is one of my favourites that my brother offered me for my birthday : it’s called hibiscus and it’s from Bobbi Brown (it’s a soft pink hue). Thanks for the follow. I will follow you back when Instagram allows me to (rn it says blocked and it might do the same tomorrow so don’t be surprised).
